Have a good holiday Maman. Where are you going? Somewhere nice and warm hopefully!

    Denise

Thanks for good wishes. We're doing a Classical Tour of Turkey (Istanbul, Gallipoli, Ephesus etc). I've been there many times for a sunshine holiday so this will be different. Hoping for warm, sightseeing temperatures.

All meals accompanied by bread in Turkey (white and yummy like in France) so will be officially off plan but I'll do my best.:)

So I was like ughhhh don't want supernoodles... ugghhhh don't know what I want so I went onto recipes on SW Online and had a browse... found a recipe for crab and sweetcorn cakes - funnily enough didn't have any fresh crab but thought tuna would probs do so this was dinner tonight :D The recipe made loads, so I'll freeze the rest for pack ups and I made a dip from quark, tiny bit of mango chutney and a tiny bit of nandos peri peri (yes random I know, but it was nice and hubs said it was better than any shop dip). So there you go, the power of SW online! 2 syns for the whole dinner :D

  • Well done to Tweets and Mupelle on your lovely losses. Happy holidays Maman, sounds like a really fab trip.

I haven't had the greatest of weeks so really no surprise to find I have STS - biggest surpise was that it wasn't a gain, so I'm not complaining. :lipsrseal

Apart from dinner which will be steak and SW chips with all the usual trimmings, I'm not sure what else I'll be having today.

Mupelle they look lovely.Had a look, but couldn't find recipe for crab and sweetcorn cakes on the site.I would also use tuna, but how long did you cook them for then?Fried or baked?

Going to get to the shops tomorrow.Definately need more fresh stuff.

Haven't done too badly today, considering how much i was craving a sweet fix for alot of the afternoon/evening.

Breakfast:2 slices thin toast with scrape marg,Marmite

Lunch:red pepper and butternut squash soup

Snacks in afternoon: 2 choc coated rice cakes (6 syns),cold cumberland sausage(1 syn),2 fruitopolis yoghurts(1 syn)

    Tea:scrambled egg,beans,2 tomatoes

In a bid to keep away from another 6 syns worth of chocolate rice cakes, tonight I had an Options hot choc for the first time ever.Well,it did take the edge off the craving, but dear it was very artificially-sweetened tasting!Still,it saved me some syns.

  • Good Morning peoples - nice to see it's not just me struggling under "Autumn Hectic" - the kids' social lives are back in full swing. If I don't lock the laptop upstairs the house work doesn't get done, so I'm not on and keeping up with everyone's successes as much as I'd like.

I realise its a tad late but I hope you enjoy your holiday Maman. Mupelle, Tweets well done.

Lots of outings of my own this week with some goodish news I can't yet share, some business some friend related all calorie intensive :D It's been very hard to stay true to my weeks plan in places. SW is all well and good if you want to do the cooking yourself, you are so much more in control as to what you put in the pot, but it goes a bit pants when the words "convenient food." Will be stock cooking on Sunday to line the freezer with basic quick after school meals.
Next week only has the one business thing so I should have a little more input on where I eat.

Shala-moo, I'd like to report - 0.5lb for WI this week which I have to say I am more pleased about than the whoppingly abnormal loss of last week  .
I hope everyone has a fab weekend and not too stressful. Must dash, birthday parties are lined up today. :o

    This is the recipe

    Serves: 4
    Prep. time: 10mins
    Cook time: 8-10mins
    Total time: 30-60 Minutes
Syns per serving: 1½ (extra easy)

    225g fresh crab meat
1 small green pepper, deseeded and finely chopped
    225g cooked or canned sweetcorn
1 small fresh red chilli, finely chopped
    Pinch of paprika
    Pinch of salt
    1 egg
    25g plain flour
    2 tbsp skimmed milk
    Low calorie cooking spray
lime wedges, salad leaves and red onion, to serve

Mix the crab meat, green pepper, sweetcorn and chilli in a bowl. Add the paprika and salt.
Beat the egg with the flour and milk to make a thick, smooth batter. Set aside for 15 minutes and then stir in the crab and sweetcorn mixture.
Spray a large frying pan with low calorie cooking spray and place over a low heat. When hot, drop a few spoonfuls of the crab and sweetcorn mixture into the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes each side, until crisp and golden brown. Remove and keep warm while you cook the remaining crispbakes in the same way.
Serve hot garnished with lime wedges, salad leaves and some chopped or sliced red onion.

Obviously I just changed crab for tuna and I also swapped red pepper for green and some of the red pepper for red onion so it had both in.

Big tip is to not move them until the 4/5 minutes per side is up, else they fall apart!
