in Credit cards
Hi all
Does anyone have one of these and are Halifax issuing them. My current Clarity card which was sent in March is not contactless and i was wondering if its because Halifax don't offer this feature yet.

As far as I know Halifax don't have the contactless feature on there Credit Cards, they certainly don't have it on there Clarity card at the moment anyway.0 -
I got my Clarity Card last week and it's contactless. I'm a cardholder on another account, and when that came through a month ago, that wasn't.0

I think Halifax send contactless cards out to people in major urban areas (London, etc.) and standard cards out to everybody else. I believe you can request a contactless card if you like, however. You certainly can with their debit card.0

I have one. I was rejected first, but then sent a letter to their office asking for a reason, as I've got a generally good credit rating. I had to answer a series of questions with one of their staff in a local branch, and all was approved on the spot.
I didn't get a contactless one - too be honest I rather not have a contactless one as the security isn't up to scratch yet and also mostly use this abroad.Student loan: Cleared.0 -
Can I ask why does it matter?0

A lot of people are concerned, IMHO needlessly, about the risk of the card being lost or stolen and then used fraudulently.jonesMUFCforever wrote: »Can I ask why does it matter?0 -

I believe this is similar to LLoyds.
My understanding is that they have 'PostCode' areas for their Credit Cards, where they issue Contactless cards - 'for business reasons', and other areas where they do not.
I believe this is specific to Credit Cards only, and that for Visa Debit Cards, they issue contactless as standard.Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0 -
Thanks for replies. I was looking at getting mine switched for a contactless version as i do find it very fast and convenient using this feature when out on the town0

Because it's really handy if you shop frequently in Co-Op/McDonalds/Greggs. Nearly all of my sub £20 spend is contactless, and I find it so much more convenient than having to put in my pin and wait for it to be authorised. I personally would be less inclined to apply for a card if I knew I couldn't have contactless.0
