I really liked the LF advent calendar, but then I've had beauty calendars since they first came out and I am used to getting similar products in them but I see what you mean. I suspect the marketing team put the whole thing together so we get luxury size samples of whatever brands they're trying to flog.

As for the Tangle Teezer - I was really pleased with that as I had ordered one from LF (I didn't realise they had them as a freebie or I would have ordered the Redken stuff instead!) but they sent me out the wrong product and I got a really expensive moisturiser instead. I wrote to LF explaining their mistake but I was told they won't do anything unless I send them photographic evidence but I don't have a camera phone or anyway of taking a picture of it, so it really annoyed me as I felt as though I was being accused of lying. I've emailed back and forward a few times but until I send a photo I can't return it. So I've now kept the moisturiser and the advent calendar Tangle Teezer!

It's good to hear what other people thought. I had the benefit calendar last year and apart from the silly little notebooks & hair bobbles they put in it, I quite liked that one. I was going to get it this year for me & my eldest daughter but they only did a 12 door calendar this year so I changed my mind.

That's annoying about your delivery problem. I've never had problems with LF but have had a few delivery problems with other companies this Christmas but to be fair to them (Boots and Feelunique) they dealt with it really well. Boots delivery was damaged so they just sent out new items and Feelunique box was damaged so a lipstick was missing and they sent out a replacement straight away with no quibble.

Quick heads up - you can use the ESPA gift card that was in the You Beauty Discovery advent on products that's in their 12 day sale. That's £15 off some of their sets so a decent saving.

The cowshed and Bee Good vouchers effectively give you free shipping only as Cowshed is £4.95 unless you spend over £50.

There are two mystery boxes from all boxed up. I 'll skip it as last time the boxes had items from boxes they couldn't sell...

There are still some you beauty discovery advent calendars, I guess they were too optimistic on how many they would sell. I would buy one if they go half price...!

The last mystery boxes were woeful from what I saw so going to give them a a body swerve.

A silk pillowcase is supposed to stop you from getting wrinkles! And bed head. I have no idea if they work or not.

Groupon have an offer on for a 6 month Birchbox subscription: £29.95 + £9.95 P&P.

Not sure if it's cheap enough for me to take the plunge again.

thanks for sharing! I agree with you. I wasn't happy with the last boxes, I don't think I want to take the risk.

I bought some a few years ago & love sleeping on them. It definitely helps with the bed head, but I think it could make the wrinkles worse as it seems to soak up your moisturiser. I only noticed when staying away from home & noticed that my moisturiser lasted better overnight, with an ordinary pillowcase.
