I've dreamt about lawyers but never accountants!
Have just looked up dreaming about accountants in my dream book......
1)suggests strong adaptability and practicality on part of the dreamer.
2)Speaking to one suggests intrigues among those around you
3) paying one - you are likely to be facing a major decision
4)honest accountant (do the two go together?:rotfl:) - a very important piece of business is about to be concluded. But if a dishonest one then avoid complications at all costs.
So which is it for you Bob?:D Number two sound fun:rotfl:

Have lost track a bit but that is now about 50/70 of the debt that Creditors have agreed to continue on frozen interest and charges, so anything I pay is bringing it down, however tiny the fraction at the moment.
Hi NOAh,
I'm still talking to you even though I now know you are the 'masked lady' :rotfl:!!
It is good to hear that Sainsbug's would be willing to deal. Mrs B's S'bugs credit card was settled with the DCA's Carboot for 60% ie 40% discount!! No doubt they will sell yours sometime soon
!! Carboot advised me that they were always reluctant to give big discounts on Sainsbug's debts because Sainsbug's debtors are good payers............honest :rotfl:!!!!! We are obviously coming up in the world :rotfl:.........a better class of debtor
!! (even those who wear masks!
)
Seriously though......whenever I read your money posts I feel that you are waiting for some change that will allow you to sort everything out and lead the calm and spiritual life which we all want for ourselves. Nothing in life is ever immediate and as months and a year go by it is important that we can actually 'live' whilst we have this debt thing there with us so don't take it too 'heavily.'
You mentioned a round of payment reviews you had with the predators and you were dreading it. I think I have been on that roundabout for a couple of years longer than you and it is nothing to worry about at all. I am not worried about talking to some pipsqueak on the phone but if you prefer then do it in writing. Make the I&E statement read as you would need, show the available income figure to be what you want to pay, tell each of the blighters what they will receive and........you will get a load of letters back accepting your proposal 100%. By doing this you are one of their 'good guys.'You haven't gone missing, you are organised and responsible (even though you might wear a mask :rotfl:.)
Make a diary note and send them these even before they ask........you may not get one phone call. Don't breath a sigh of relief when they confirm '6 months with frozen interest'.........just don't get uptight about it in the first place......enjoy the time when you would have been worrying and live!!
Let's be realistic and positive.....on any debt where interest has been frozen for six months.......let's face it........it is frozen for good..... definitely........and anything else from some pipsqueak is a hollow threat - they will not start interest again!!
Finally......you should not be paying any interest now on any of the debts. Before you go into full relaxation mode address those predators who are still charging interest in writing with letters headed up 'COMPLAINT.' Inform them that you are in financial difficulty (don't be too shy to say this,) be rude to them, denigrate them for their actions and insist on them freezing interest and finish the letter with a paragraph to inform them that IF their final response should indicate they are not willing to comply with your request that you will immediatley refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Have a lovely weekend my dear and do remember to keep posting to us because you do us all a lot of good!!

Hi Brizzle, nice to see you back after your extended leave of absence:) Am loving the garden but its run riot at the moment - too much to do and never enough time. Am glad of the rain this week as grass really needed it, but problem is it makes things grow twice as fast .... weeds 10 times as fast:rotfl:Oh wow! Thanks for looking the meaning up for me amazing! Brogden - thanks once again for your insights into how to handle the predators - am slowly realising that they don't need to be at the top of the food chain:o. If I wear my mask ( the silver one with crystal diamante no less winging its way to me from Amazonia ) My disguise will surely confuse them into thinking that the ostrich has become the peacock. Ok so I am rambling nonsense.
Time for bed methinks.

Sleepless night again so exhausted. Was meant to go to see parents yesterday but got myself into such a bad mood with DD/DS who didn't get up until 1pm  and then proceeded to vegetate some more, that I didn't feel like driving down last night.
Am going for the day today.
Have made a big decision and decided to say no to the organisation that I have hosted students for the last few years for the time being. It ties me down too much for the half terms and exeat weekends, and I have decided my parents come first before the extra money. Also no one else really helps with them - DH never did, DD reluctantly used to help with meals, laying table and clearing up. She's now at uni and DS is less chatty so it would all fall to me again. I think I prefer to be out at work so at least I get some adult company, and not just do more cooking/slaving for others! Struggling with patience with my own teens so can't see myself extended it any further this to additional teens (who mostly spend time in their room on line - exactly what I don't like mine doing!).
May be able to pick up on this stream of income again in the future.
There, I think I have justified decision to myself, thank you MSE for talking me though it.

Morning everyone!
Did a big update post last night......and lost it. So frustrating, should have copied before submitting:( Will have to do that later as have a big to do list today (more marking work starting tomorrow for 6 days, then no more until term starts.
Our electronic monitor thingamejig for the oil tank doesn't work - tank is empty - realised last night when I decided to have a long soak last night and stepped into a bath full of COLD water. The language was colourfullucky no one was upstairs:rotfl:. Anyway, as it appears I'm the only one who uses hot water in the house and the only adult it was clearly my fault for not checking the oil level regularly. So I went out to boiler room 10.30 last night to switch on back up electrical heating system only to be told by DH this am that he recalled it didn't work last time. Communication in our house leaves a lot to be desired. Ordered oil this morning and luckily it will come this afternoon, so If I can't restart boiler I'll have to call out the boiler man.
Urgent to do for today
1)VAT to return - complete and pay
2)Letter to SainsB creditor - they want a list of payments to everyone else too for their records.
3)Pay some SE invoices for stationary/consumables etc
4)Set up some more standing orders for creditor payments
5)Call student hosting organisation and tell of my decision not to do this year.
Other
1)Grocery shopping
2)Some fundraising cheques to be paid into bank/voluntary work admin and updating accounts.
3)Get dinner ready before picking up DD from work at 4.30pm
4) Organise holiday for week starting 17 August, though I don't really feel like going anywhere for a week.
Also start working on goals for the next year -
Personal / Family /Work /Debt.
This is important as I feel like I'm stuck in a rut with everything. Have had a very discontented few weeks which makes it hard to keep motivation up, and I don't like it when I am like that.
I also need to change my approach to my expectations of DH, but how I don't know. I feel the more I just "do" and "get on with what needs doing" myself the more he leaves it to me - including what has normally been his domain. I am so very tired of it all. DH got all stressy yesterday because there was a message from SainsB about the loan in his name. It is all in hand and I had already spoken to them and written to them. Basically all the time I have been dealing with SC and creditors he has been "protected" from it as I don't even bother telling him what's happening now. He had heard something on radio about bailiffs being able to collect business property unless it was a ltd company. Long story but he couldn't understand that we weren't going to have bailiffs round because I was actually communicating with all creditors, and he thought we should become Ltd.?!? Didn't want to hear that we don't have much in terms of assets other than 2 pcs and some printers and that he was panicking over nothing. When I try to explain where we are he doesn't want to know.
I think I have probably said all this before. so apologies for boring you again. Whinge over, need to be productive now.
Have a lovely Wednesday everyone
