I can understand how the whole screen thing gets you down
and I really fear for a generation who are losing the ability to make their own entertainment/conversation/RL relationships etc etc. And I base this on what I experience at work - the younger end of over use of screens...........parents who have no time for their children and who pitch up at school with a child with no social skills, self help skills and cant speak - well they can repeat 'gaming phrases' over and over:eek: My most upsetting experience was when I rang a mother to ask her to come to collect her child as he was clearly ill and needed to be home...her response was to say could she ring me back as she was in the middle of an on line game thing and she NEEDED to finish...........I was left speechless and very angry!
It hasnt been such a huge problem in our household and I think the gaming thing is possibly more of a male pursuit...........my two DDs have never shown any interest in it but then neither has their Dad so I guess we have been fortunate there. DDs do use FB etc and the youngest does like the old you toob much to her elder sisters disdain!!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Thanks for the info NOA. I thought it must be ok as they hadn't been in touch.
You are very good doing all your own accounts.
Sorry you feel down about the paying back rate. And that your family aren't helping.
Hugs to you

Sorry I haven't been in touch but... (my favourite phrase at the moment - here and in life in general:() but I don't like posting when I'm  even though everyone is so supportive at those times and a real boost.
Am very frustrated at the moment as nothing seems to be moving anywhere in the grand scheme of things, even though when you stop and think there are lots of mini steps of 'progress'. Yor mortgage stuff all makes sense too.
Marital stuff? OooH Brogden I didn't know you cared:p. All's quiet-sh - because I vent on here and then I get on with what I need to do. I have treated myself to a lovely new dress £70 bargain
which I found in Debnms whilst shopping with my mum a couple of days ago. I was looking at the sale rail full of lovely skinny dresses for skinny people, mum saw me looking and said " you should get the one on the model" I had a look for it (not on sale) and there 3 left on the rail including a 12!!!! That NEVER happens so I decided it was meant to be and
didn't bother trying it on -jst bought it to try at home. And it fitted perfectly (just need to shorten it as I don't have legs up to my armpits;)). Its elegant, stylish , flattering and I feel very nice in it and the family will just have to lump it and go without food for a week! We all need to lose some weight anyway. :rotfl:Just nee to buy some masks now - seen some on line - lots and lots under £10 each. Anyway with a house full of girls I'm sure you wanted to hear that ......Not!:rotfl: Sorry:)

Now there's an idea:D....I used to be able to turn off the WiFi bit but they worked that one out and found the main relay plug/switch in office to rest of house last year:o. But the mains trip........mwah ha ha .......that would not only get them off screens but also save on electricity bill:money:....and we have had a few power cuts recently so there is no reason why they would suspect......mwah ha ha

BobOk am I spooky or what. After our discussions about VAT I dreamt about my accountant last night. And guess who called me first thing. ....
:eek:insert music from twilight zone here:eek:......but you are probably too young to remember that series of spooky dramas!
I've dreamt about lawyers but never accountants!
Have just looked up dreaming about accountants in my dream book......
1)suggests strong adaptability and practicality on part of the dreamer.
2)Speaking to one suggests intrigues among those around you
3) paying one - you are likely to be facing a major decision
4)honest accountant (do the two go together?:rotfl:) - a very important piece of business is about to be concluded. But if a dishonest one then avoid complications at all costs.
So which is it for you Bob?:D Number two sound fun:rotfl:

PS Had some strong words with DS and DD day before yesterday. Yesterday DD finally started clearing her room six weeks after moving back from uni:eek: and Ds helped around the house - didn't get loads done but it was a start.

:eek:That's Horrifying Igamogam! and the fact that she even admitted it instead of "I'm in the middle of something" means she thought that it was a totally acceptable reason to not want to know about her sick child?
The gaming thing is more DS - though DH definitely isn't into that - (although I think in his day it was space invaders and pacman:rotfl:).
DD is Facebook (or whatever social media she uses now). A few years ago she ran some fan pages for certain teenage films and got thousands of followers. She also writes on line interactively with other users and has some characters on some website which is also as addictive as gaming. Through this she has made some friends () but I guess its no different to have "pen friends"? Her recent visit to Sweden was to see one of those friends - don't worry - she's a lovely girl and she came here first a couple of years ago - and she is who she says she is...:rotfl:
But I would much rather be able to pack DD and DS into the car and drive off for days out exploring like we used to:(

Brogden......I have no idea what you are thinking!!!!!:oI suspect the worst though
Let me explain.....the dress is for hubby's works do - a big event in a posh London hotel for all employees - all paid for including hotel room
:money:and the event is a MASKED Ball.
Whatever did you think I needed masks for? :rotfl:
DD and my younger sisters have all told me NOT to read the book or see that film on mixing black and white and getting lots of shades of pink - apparently my delicate constitution couldn't take it. :rotfl::rotfl:
I think they just want to have all the fun themselves.
Hoping to meet a dashing Zorro or Musketeer there;)
Only joking I love DH to bits ...honest Guv:rotfl:

Got a call from SainB's DH's Loan debt - for review of I&E and update on finances - I said I would put it in the post to them and the person I spoke to said to remember that any time we had some spare money they offers discounts on paying off and to call them to discuss it. That's with out me even asking. That's the third creditor that has brought this up - without even being prompted by me!
Have lost track a bit but that is now about 50/70 of the debt that Creditors have agreed to continue on frozen interest and charges, so anything I pay is bringing it down, however tiny the fraction at the moment.Feb2014 Total unsecured debt £72,520>>01/06/16 £68166>01/02/17 £66,600=8.18%PAID
