Morning NOA,
How absolutely awful about your phone, its one of those frustrating moments that shouldn't have happened especially when you were having a lovely catch up with friends. I hope you are able to find another good deal.
I can only imagine what you must be feeling with DD now away at uni......my eldest son is 15 and went to a party last night and got a lift home. I wasn't able to keep my eyelids open until he got in but first thing this morning when I woke up and sneakily opened his door to check he was in bed. Phew what a relief when I saw him sound asleep.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, great weather here for gardeningx

Sending hugs

Hi SS1K, so lovely of you to pop by, have been in and out of you carrot cake pages lots! Because carrot cake (passion cake?) is most probably my most-est favourite!:) I do miss DD so, but she doesn't really miss us at all because she is too busy having fun - and that's exactly how it should be - but it's still so hard, It doesn't feel like 18 years since she was born - time flies by so quickly, and the last two years just seems like a few weeks. First week after dropping her off was hardest - every night after DH and DS asleep I would lie awake feeling very ......don't know he words....empty? like something not quite right....next two weeks better and then it hit me like a brick again on Friday night! DS was really sweet - he wouldn't go to sleep until I felt better and I got lots of cuddlesI stressed so much with everyone over the summer and it was because I couldn't bear the thought of her leaving.
Enjoy the next three years (hard as it sometimes is with teens!)

Sorry you are missing DD, I know that feeling only too well x
Just for you & your diary x
Granny x
Oh Granny Thank you!!:) I love the piccies you put on your pages...so I am quoting this so it will appear twice
Does the empty feeling ever do away. It hits me at the strangest times, and I feel really guilty because DS is here and so supportive -I love him the same amount, he cuddles me all the time - at 14 for a boy that is so "uncool" in public, but I get smothered at home:rotfl:but I just don't do "gaming" like boys do, and he doesn't like the same sort of films etc and he doesn't just "chat".....
suddenly had a thought - I hope he isn't feeling less loved because of me not coping so well with DD going? That would be awful -

Thanks for popping by - I didn't get a chance to sort out my phone - but did see a deal for £14/m from Mt T with orange - not sure if online only or if can get in store - will pop out later today as don't know enough about phones to do it over the phone! Did ask DH to call for me on Saturday but he said I should. Thanks.
Parties are just the start of it - I was Ok with them while DD at home - most of the time managed to stay up as I was the taxi! but knowing she was safe home meant the world and as you say a relief! Now I know that she is out late (have been a student and done some very silly things myselfand worry constantly.
I should know better - I have been married 29 years and left home 4 years before that for uni.....and my mum still worries if I don't answer the phone!:rotfl::rotfl:

I still get those empty pangs occasionally, she's been gone for 14 years, first to Tenerife for 2 years, (I saw her once during), then to Manchester & London for 4, ( I saw her about 4/5 times a year) and for the last 8 to Oz - I've seen her once every 2.5 years but for extended periods of 3/4 weeks. It's been hard as we were really close. I miss her loads but am happy that she's enjoying life.
My DS was always a very thoughtful Young Man but it just isn't the same with boys. My DDIL is sweet but we have our ups & downs so again it's not the same. DD & I can chat for hours about nothing really.
I'm sure your DS doesn't feel like that. Im sure he understands.
I know when DD left home I struggled to cope but it was as much because I knew he wouldn't be long behind her & then I'd be left alone with OH who is pretty unsociable at times. I had dreadful empty nest syndrome when he left and it nearly broke me but I got through it.
You do get used to it, after all you have to let them go. Hopefully once she's through uni she will move near home & still be around regularlyTargets

Hi Nonna (sorry to shorten your name, hope you don't mind?).
I just can't imagine what it will be like in 3 years time (even less now!). DH said to me last year that in a few years time we'll be able to go on holiday on our own together - and I thought 'I don't want to go on holiday on our own together, I'd rather go with DD'. I feel mean thinking that but that's what popped into my head along with the 'empty' feeling.
I am prepping myself - started a degree, trying new jobs (badly so far) and thinking about what I'm going to do with myself as I'm not going to just wait around for DH as I have done in the last few years (that's only been because I'm at home for DD - I'll be off and out doing things and he can come if he wants to :-))
Phone-wise I just bought DD a new Nokia 635 (or something like that) and as I'm a Vodafone customer they gave me a discount so its something like £11 a month with free phone. Its worth wrangling for some discount from them - don't just pay upfront. Don't forget you can also go through QUIDCO for some cash back.
Anyhow, I will reply to your message on my thread soon - just baking and prepping right now :rotfl::rotfl:OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10
