Lovely to see you, I have seen your name in other diaries - Welcome and sincere apologies in advance for a lot of the waffle you'll read - I use it to offload

My diary has no end of waffle, I'm constantly amazed when people actually read it :rotfl:.
You've been on a such a journey already so I know you'll get there in the end. I completely empathise with your worry and stress in the early days because that's exactly how I used to feel. Every step counts even when its 4 forward and 5 back! Although the numbers are still huge, I can see a glimmer of something at the end of the tunnel, DS passing his test this week suddenly made me "realise" that I'm mum to two grown up and pretty independent young, unsettling in some ways, filling me with pride in others. The actual numbers are just that now, and I can look at them quite dispassionately now (not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing!) - everything seems to be much more in perspective now.
Have a good week

Hello NOA! You are busy as ever.............dont forget to take time for yourself. I have been away plodding on with RL, dealing with the odd curve ball and being just a little more 'present' rather than getting through a list of To Do's and demands.........oh yes have I discovered mindfulness or should I say I fell into it, a full blown sceptic but it makes perfect sense even though I still feel someone has re invented the wheel;) Its certainly a money spinner for some:eek: I am not interested in that bit and am just taking what I need from it.... for me:D
I am looking at retiring early, very early:rotfl: But at the moment although I am looking at plans, figures, possibilities, outcomes etc I have no real date in mind and I am just skipping around the periphery of it all...but its gathering momentum. Kinda all depends on how much of the debt I can pay down...........is it not always thus:p
Life has slowed down a bit so I may pop in a little more....famous last words!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Good to see you again Igamogam
and Yes it is always thus.....
I wish I could think of retiring some time soon, but I need to keep going for a little while longer. Time is racing by though so I'm sure it will it will appear on the horizon soon - I keep thinking I need to do a round up of both DH and My pensions, though mine is a bit on the the thin side- probably DH's is too as we missed quite a few years of payments due to being SE.
Glad that mindfulness is "working" for you. I do try to take a little time each day, usually a bath. and I go out in the garden and take lots of pictures of flowers, close up of leaves etc and generally failing to be artistic. All supposed to be the basis of my garden journal, which has never materialised but I have lots of material for!
I hope to be popping in more after next weekwhy don't you
"galw heibio am goffi rywbryd"I have no idea how effective or useless google translate is at english to welsh!!!!:rotfl:
Glad its Friday tomorrow

Another week gone almost! I have a few more days at work and then a week off which will be bliss. So tired at the moment that I dread stopping in case I can't start up again! Work is coming in thick and fast from my 2nd part time job - i have 2 full weeks already in July and a third pending . We don't have a holiday planned , not sure how we are going to fit one in. DD will be busy writing up, doesn't want to go anywhere, DS doesn't want to go without her, I don't want to go just with DH without them, so doesn't sound promising but very :money: although initial quotes for his car insurance are looking to be ~2K at the very cheapest. Poll ......Holiday or Insurance for DS?
Being extra tired means I keep snacking
Just been through stored clothes no longer worn and found DS one of
DH's old tropical bad taste shirts worn only on holidays :rotfl: for a themed party - saved £20 by not having o buy him a new one!
Well that was a random :rotfl: selection of thoughts......
Off to bed, Nitey Nite.

2K for insurance that is mad............keep shopping around and check all the 'tricks' to get that figure down - Ours was never more that £700 when DD2 was a named driver and even now as the main driver and me as named driver is just under £900. She does have 2 years driving experience but what made the difference was having a black box fitted which brought it down a lot. Keep looking!!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Hi NoOneAround
De-lurking to 2nd the little box recorder, and putting either yours or your dh name on the insurance. I found Morethan was best in the first year @£1100 and last year it was Bell @£900. I have put £900 aside for August but hoping to see it drop a little year on year. ETA: THat is with my son as main insured and me as extra person.

Thanks Igamogam, and triplechoc chip
I haven't sorted it yet, that was first round of searches so I still have to do some more home before getting a policy out. Adding me knocked it down to about £1800 - that is a separate policy with him as main driver and me as named. Also need to check /get policy where he can build up his no claims, which doesn't always happen if he is only a named driver on DD's policy.
Just a bit wary as i'm the registered keeper, DD is main driver on her policy with me added on, and that's the car DS will drive, so have a lot of options to look into!
DD's first insurance was only 1K without black box, which we didn't want at the time because of post code of insurance and possible invalidation if she took it to uni etc. She was older though, DS is not yet 18.
I haven't decided about black box yet, as DS will share DD's car, so we don't want any restrictions imposed.
won't have time to do more research until weds when I finish this stint of work!
Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather - garden could o with a drenching though....
