Thinking of you NOA - elderly parents are a great worry. Do you have siblings? If you do now is the time to have a family meeting including OH and offspring too - no ifs or buts..........plans/ideas need to be discussed whilst everybody can think straight and emotions are not stratospheric, before it starts to snowball. Hopefully it wont but whatever the outcome you will have a plan in place. Wishing you well :)

Hols were really nice. I even learnt some welsh - signs everywhere saying ARAF

Think its an urban myth but I have heard stories of visitors to Wales going home and naming a future new born after something they have seen - Allanfa ( exit ) being the most common :rotfl:: Secretly I hope its true;)

First two days of hols were very wet - non-stop, heavy rain but on the first day we went out anyway and did a gorge walk to see a waterfall. I was a bit concerned about doing it due to steep uneven steps/path but it was something I needed to do for me - at home I start getting cramp in my legs from just climbing stairs so fatigue has been a routine part of the day since beginning of the year.

Get your potassium level up through diet only NOT supplements and magnesium either through epsom salt foot soaks or as I prefer and epsom salt bath - cheap in H0me Barga!ns :) Great for the skin too. Have heard of people using magnesium oil rubbed into skin also does trick for aches and pains - not tried myself!

But I took the walk really slow and completed it all. Wrists/hands ached all week from gripping the rails but the fact that I was able to complete the whole walk really boosted me.

I recently did something to prove to myself I could still do it - involved lots of zip wires very high up:eek: Family were amazed I still had it. I felt on top of the world:D

The place we stayed was n Snowdonia NP

Hadn't realised you were in my back garden!! :p

Sorry its such a long post - just had to remind myself we have had a break:D

Just catching up with posts and reading backwards!! yep week back in the saddle and it already feels as if I had no time off at all:(

    Hi NOA
I too hope that things are getting better for you, and that your absence doesn't mean something worse.

  • so sorry NOA.
lost my mum 2 yrs ago propping up dad became my priority. My only advice would be to find a little time for yourself otherwise you'll find grieving never really happens.
