Does no one leave feedback on e-bay anymore?

OMG , are people still using ebay? With love, POSR

... but to a new ebayer with a 1 0r 2 figure feedback score it DOES matter. It is often seen by them, to show they are becoming 'experienced and trustworthy' ebayers.
No, it doesn't matter. A new eBayer can buy and bid on any item they want and no seller can automatically block them without a reason.0 -

Ebay send you NOTHING. Sellers do. Immature people like you who go out of their way to damage peoples business will find that the pool of sellers will shrink dramatically. You may even find a seller or two on your doorstep with a baseball bat. Got the balls to post your ebay username to see how many BBL you will find yourself on?0 -
wow - a lot of ebay sellers here really seem to dislike their customers? to ANY business, feedback is a gift from your customer, none of whom owes you their hard earned money, and if you KNOW that some of your customer base gets a warm feel-good response to receiving feedback then why on earth wouldn't you do it? what a cheap marketing and brand enhancing tool? A seller holding off on giving feedback until you have received yours or chasing for it comes across as desperate, petty and unprofessional - is that the image you want for your business?:AA/give up smoking (done)

I'm also one of those sellers who leave feedback as soon as payment is received. Sadly buyers for some reason just don't seem to as forthcoming with feedback as they used to be. I'm lucky enough to be a 250+ member with 100% feedback but I worked for that. 7 of the 20 items sold last month have no feedback yet. They might still come in (my oldest outstanding sale actually posted feedback yesterday) but I'm looking on it as "if there was a problem they would have told me by now". I have a lot of sympathy with Rotor. Even now if someone with none or little feedback bids on something my initial response is "is this a scam?" I appreciate we all started somewhere but EBay have made it more difficult to make a judgement on potential buyers as you can no longer see their purchase history through feedback. It wasn't perfect but it gave you some indication of how reliable they were likely to be.0

no it isn't, and for what it's worth I leave a buyers feedback as I post/mark their items despatched, however I have nothing but disgust for anybody who leaves lower/low DSR's for no other reason than spite as they haven't been left glowing positives as soon as they have paid...
remember that eBay's DSR system was first bought in as a way of giving a discount against MASSIVE fee increases, and ever since has been used to reduce the sellers who can claim it.....
Keyboard commandos who use low DSR's as a weapon for their petty grudges should get a life....0 -

Utter tosh - its because of sellers leaving bad buyers and scammers glowing feedback thats ruining Ebay.
They leave a pos - only for the buyer to then abuse them, scam them, and leave them a neg. But all the whole world see's is "Perfect buyer - honest and decent".
I know sellers can't leave negs - but to leave bad buyers glowing feedback is nuts.
Only when the buyer is happy and has confirmed receipt and satisfaction is it over for the seller (almost) and only then should a seller consider the buyer worthy of good feedback.
Until then - the buyer still has the potential to be a buyer from hell.
Ebay also at fault for creating these 'monsters' - encouraging them at every step to report the seller for something, anything - just report the seller - its your right.0 -

eBay is not a service for exchanging feedback. It's a platform for selling, and if a buyer is petty enough to be angry simply because they didn't receive feedback first even though the seller did everything right, then I won't worry about losing their business.
It might be a good idea for buyers who use eBay just for the feedback to take a look at the seller's feedback before they buy from them. It's normally easy to tell if they leave feedback first or not, and so you can easily avoid them
Again, feedback is voluntary.0 -
I'm amazed at people getting worked up on here either way. There are plenty of sellers who'd be a lot happier if they didn't have to deal with customers.
I probably sell 4 times as much on Amazon than Ebay but still get less feedback on Amazon. Amazon don't have buyer feedback but do have several ways customers can effect sellers. I've had to discontinue one product after two poor and unjustified reviews that I couldn't get removed.
Not sure of the point I was making any more, it's a boring debate, no one ever concedes they may be wrong or are willing to change.
For the record, I used to leave fb as a seller after receiving it. I changed that to after payment shortly after they did away with sellers being able to give negs..0
