So you dont use any online site that doesnt leave feedback ?
wow that must really narrow your options, if what your saying is true.

No. How many websites offer feedback to buyers?

Argos, Asda, Sainsbury's, Lots of aquatic and garden centre sites. Car parts bought online..Nope none of them have a system to leave me feedback.

Name any that do that are not auctions like ebay? Proper shop sites?

  • You could legitimately mark them down for poor comms I suppose.

I cannot be that bad a customer. Ebay send me enough goodies, I pay almost instantly unless buying several items where i will pay after winning the last one.

i don't give a flying **** about feedback, i always leave, but if not left i really don't care...

ebay don't care about their customers anyway... why bother?
  • A seller can't leave anything but positive feedback for a buyer anyway so it totally worthless in that regard. Most sellers know this so they pay absolutely no heed to how many positives a potential buyer has accrued.

To mark a seller down simply for not leaving it appears to me to be petty in the extreme!

Reviews on sites such as Argos, Amazon , Homebase etc are better than feedback , they tell you how good/useless the item is and comment on customer service as well......

whats the point of leaving feedback on Ebay as a buyer anyways ?- its best not too ,then if Ebay are giving buyer 6 months to get a refund , you can just wear/use / abuse the item for half a year and then get the seller to refund you and pay for you to send it back......its a winner !..
As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question ! ;)
  • I have my moments and mark down sellers that dont leave feedback...

You mark them down on what? You can only rate sellers based on accuracy of item description, speed of delivery, communication, and p&p charges. You cannot simply rate them based on the fact that you are a moody buyer who sometimes needs a round of applause simply because they paid for their purchase.

Feedback is voluntary; get over it.
  • And as a buyer I have bid and won or clicked BIN and paid instantly. So why do you not leave me feedback? I have completed my part of the deal.

So when your item doesn't turn up, you don't do anything else? Because your part of the deal is completed?

Or, maybe you send an offensive email to the seller full of obscenities asking where your item is and threatening legal action two days after you paid for it? You don't think that's worth mentioning in the seller's feedback?

Or, maybe you're one of those buyers who email a day or so after paying to say you've just remembered you moved house a couple of months ago but didn't bother telling Ebay and could the seller post to your new address please even though they posted out within 24 hours as promised?

Or you get your item and it doesn't match your chihuahua's collar and you don't want it any more and you don't want to pay to send it back 'cos you don't see why you should?

Or you deny receiving the item but go strangely quiet when the seller points out it was signed for by you a few days ago?

You don't think those customer behaviours might affect the seller feedback on the transaction (NOT payment?)

Just a little reminder. The seller doesn't live in your head. He doesn't know what you're thinking or if you're a good buyer(like most) or a dodgy buyer (like a few.) He only knows if the sale to you is a good one from his perspective once it's complete, not 30 seconds after you've sent payment.

As a seller I leave feedback as soon as my buyers let me know the sale is complete i.e. they have an item and are either happy with it or are happy with my resolution to any (incredibly rare) problem. They can let me know however they want, email, phone call, post or leaving feedback.

Why on earth do buyers think they "deserve" positive feedback for making payment when feedback relates to the transaction as a whole - how can any feedback make sense before the key bit of the transaction (the actual sold thing passing into the hands of the buyer) has happened?

Buyer feedback makes no sense at any point, so leave at earliest convenience. If you are one of those that enjoys leaving negative comments then you can do that on follow up to the original feedback left.

Are you all so old and established that you have forgotten what it's like to be a new Ebayer?

Of course, we know it doesn't and shouldn't make a difference whether we get feedback or not, but to a new ebayer with a 1 0r 2 figure feedback score it DOES matter. It is often seen by them, to show they are becoming 'experienced and trustworthy' ebayers.

If some of your customers feel like that ( however wrong you feel them to be about it) then it seems a no-brainer but to leave feedback. There is no downside to leaving it, only upside : conversely you can reap the disappointment when not leaving it(whether that is unfair or not)
