Thanks try harder! She is a wonderful truck, so I am still very pleased with her! Classic cars are just awesome!

Three days into my new job, it seems ok so far, so hoping that the longer I am there the more it will move towards good rather than just ok!haha.

Managed to not pop in for a while again, life sometimes gets in the way! We have been looking at increasing our mortgage monthly repayments- I think we can afford £250.28- the 28p is to round up the usual payment to a whole number. The mortgage would then be £917 a month. If it works out it is less affordable than I thought, we will just reduce it or pause payments for a while.

This overpayment would mean that we would pay the mortgage off 8 years and 9months early, so in 17 years- I would be 48. This feels so good after about a year of no overpayments at all!

Well what a lovely, hot bank holiday weekend! I worked a long day on Monday, but will get time and a half so thats very welcome! Weather was just what I needed, the dogs, hubby and I barely left the house/garden all weekend!

Had some sad news last week, life can be so unexpected at times, though I am lucky that those closest to me are all safe and functioning as well as can be expected.

In garden news, I painted a third fence panel- it has taken a year to have painted three! I get bored so quickly and it was so hot on the weekend that even one felt like too much hard work! We are planning on making a second story in the chicken run to give them more space on the days we cannot let them out, that should be a fun task! Some of my vegetables have started to grow, though I also suspect some are weeds but I am reluctant to pull them out until I know for sure!

Glad the new job is going well so far, long may it continue for you.

I can totally sympathise about the fence panel painting- we started ours last year and I have three panels and gate that need the second coat on but can’t face it in this gorgeous weather. Makes me sweat just thinking about it! :rotfl:

Great to see your numbers chip chip chipping away too :)
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!

Have had an odd couple of weeks, feeling overwhelmed very easily which is leading to some anxiety and stress, not at all fun! I am under the NHS weightloss group, yesterday I saw the fitness lady- she is super lovely, so encouraging and just very motivational! We had a good chat and she pointed me in the direction of Mel Robbins, she is on utube, I watched her video on motivation and how to become motivated, using the 5 second technique and I am now exploring her other videos. Basically, you dont allow more than the countdown before you do something, not allowing your brain time to talk you out of doing something, definately going to give it a go!

I did it a little today by ensuring I got out for a walk, managed 2miles and didnt give myself the time to talk myself out of it. I also attended the other weight loss meeting, they have given me some really good information on mindfulness and ways to manage those horrid racing stress thoughts that can appear, then spiral!

Sorry for offloading, it is helpful to get it out there though!

I have been checking the mortgage today, but the payment including OP isnt being reflected yet...Boo!

So, I saw a meme the other day, it said, 'what have you done today to work towards your goals?'.

And I thought, nothing, I have done nothing towards my goals....then in work the next day I wondered what I might be able to do daily to achieve/work towards my goals, and what are my goals?!

I figure that going to work, that goes towards a few different goals really, without work I couldnt afford the mortgage, let alone making overpayments, without work I wouldnt be able to look to improve my skills and knowledge, I wouldnt be able to work towards further training and learning, I wouldnt have at least three days of the week where I am fully focused on others and helping them.

So perhaps, it is on days off I need to look more at what my goals are and how I am working towards them daily!

Today, I have done some exercise and I have spent the day at home with the dogs, this is a healing thing. I work as a nurse, it is very demanding in a social way (as well as other ways!), and long days can leave me drained and exhausted in an emotional/psychological way, so this day today is for me to re-energise in preperation for my shifts and to recover from the ones I have done. Hadnt considered how important this is until I broke it down! My other days off have had other commitments, so I havent felt able to completely recover, as I have 'had' to go out and do things- some of which I have enjoyed dont get me wrong!

I will continue to consider what my goals are, and what I am doing to achieve them!

mmm, rings a bell doesn't it... the amount of times I get dressed for the gym then just say bu66er it :o too much thought!.

Healing days are great. I spend most of my time at full throttle day a week of nowt is worthwhile. Unfortunately I'm turning this into many days off and losing motivation to exercise. I too work long days or nights.

Well done on your Ops :T:T:T
