Had an extra spendy weekend, had a planned night away which my dad was going to pay for, we left mega early as the hotel which is an expensive upper chair hotel was just too noisy!! So we paid and it set us back £179 as well as the Christmas spending whilst we were away! Ah well, Im sure my dad will offer the money for the room but would feel bad taking it, especially as we didnt really stay!haha. Saw Billy Connelly who was very very funny!

Have got most of my shopping now for Chrimbo, hubby wants a shooting boss for his archery for his birthday which is just before Chrimbo so need to remember to leave the 100quid for that to one side (ouch for one item!!).

Wont be able to send an extra OP to the mortgage like I hoped with the spending, but maybe next month I will! Then need to sort out savings for the holidays next year.

Off to meet the team manager of the team I have applied for tomorrow, hoping to make a good impression and hoping I at least get shortlisted!!

  • Good luck with your meeting.

I imagine you need discipline to work agency... or take a day off :D

I would be sooo tempted not to work, it's years since I did adhoc work (20+) I like stability and comfort

Thank you ETE and MFD, I did agency health care work during my training and enjoyed it but this would be completely different!

I have been shortlisted along with at least 11 others for an interview, the team were lovely and put me together a folder with lots of paperwork and relevant information for me to swot up on! The interview is in just over two weeks...there is a possibility of flexible working which would be good as the travel to the base is nearly 50minutes...ouch! Have seen another job I am interested in, so might ring up on Friday to enquire, it is in another completely different setting to what I am doing and have done. My very first nursing job which I spent four years doing is going to be putting a post forward soon, there is an oppertunity for all the band 5's to become band 6's, it was a hugely stressful job but we had a great team and at least I would kinda know what I am doing...meh! Dont know what to do for the best!

Perhaps a nice receptionist job, I like to talk and am pleasant enough...

  • apply for as many as you like then pick and choose :) ... as for short lived post, I believe that experience matters. Finding the fit for you is important too.

A friend left the ED and went office based (@tos) she hated it. Then she went to custody suites for 4 years but felt a tad cynical... did clinical exam course (£400) now has a lovely GP surgery job for minor ailments.

I've moved so many times in the last few years I'm dizzy :D.... "Find that life you don't want to holiday from" :D

MFD, thank you so much, its reassuring to know I am not the only one who is struggling to settle somewhere! My fortune cookie said I will have many changes before I settle, hopefully it was referring to my work and nothing else!haha.

Lovely to see you Tryharder! Thank you so much, you are totally correct, having a job I at least tolerate (ie get lots of sleep!haha) would make life so much easier and better!

Have applied for a nursing agency post as well as the one I have an interview for in a couple of weeks.

Have worked Sat and Sun night, finished yesterday morning, back in tonight, finish tomorrow morning then back in thurs and fri night. Flipping heck, no actual day at home for 7days, I am in work either in the am or pm all week...I only do 3 shifts a week! Rota is just pants, but I did get Christmas off! Woohoo!

    Nearly mortgage time!
