Thank you lovely people!! I am still totally too excited!!
After talks with my dad about my current car, which I own outright but is starting to fall apart a little (read a lot, that recent service highlighted lots of probs and the passenger window has stopped working again, it stopped last year and cost £300 as the garage were confused and as a last resort tried an expensive idea which worked). We popped to the car garage today just for a nosy, thought I wanted a Mazda CX5, but it seems a lot even at a couple of years old, saw a peugeot 2008, has a massive boot which we want for the dogs and at a year old can get it for around 10,000, no road tax and very economical. Have applied for a loan (feels very bad...but have applied for one which adds on £996 interest over five years so doesn't feel as scary) and found two cars, one at 7000miles 2015 with the right spec for 10900, and the other at 17000miles and 6months newer at £9500. If we get approved for the loan will switch the £200 from the mortgage, leaving us paying £500 capital off a month then use this to pay the loan. I will also be able to send adhoc OP over as I like as well. Feels weird to backseat the mortgage a little, but after driving for hours and the car juddering about 10times, and having recently broken down on the motorway but then it started again after being off for ten minutes...it should be worth it! Hopefully!
Tickets for next years flights will be out in Oct for our self catering holiday next year, looking forward to that and hopefully getting a good deal!

So it turns out that even though I feel I earn a good wage and do have disposable income the bank will only loan me the money at 15.9%, in the words of my dad 'are they having a laugh?'. Hubby has applied as he seems to be more desirable, having recently tarted our credit card for the 0% the limit he was offered was 5.5k!!! We thought it was hilarious! I am now unemployed (by design as I wanted a bit of time between jobs) so no point even thinking about applying anywhere else myself!
OP is showing in the mortgage account, so excited to officially see £169,998 as the amount!! Exciting!!
Hopefully little dude will be being adopted on Monday, lots of vibes would be wonderful as he deserves a forever home!

I fell for an expensive car loan... and didn't do anything about it for a year
a year at 4% , I've recently shoved it onto a 0% CC... good on you for sticking to your guns.. I kick myself for all the financial mistakes I've/we've made...
Mortgage looks fabMortgage restart June 2018 £119950Re mortgage August 19 £110470, … Mortgage November 22 £85600 final 0% CC 3300Home renovations - £65000, mid 2018 - mid 20220 -
Thanks MFD, I definitely dont always make smart money choices! Hubby got the good rate, so annoying as I actually earn £500more a year than him!haha. Never mind, we got the car we want but a better model for £9890 with my car as part exchange, it is so lovely I cant stop looking at it! Dogs have got a massive bed in the boot and have so much space which makes me really happy! Will be perfect when we go away later this year in the UK with them! Nice tinted back windows and boot as well which I feel is also good for the dogs!
So we are reducing the OP to cover the monthly mortgage cost, we should still pay off about £500 capital a month overall so this pleases that side of me!
Start my new job next week, bit nervous/excited! Also foster dog has been adopted and everything crossed, it seems to be going well!
Hubby has cut caravan to pieces- borrowing big cuttey things from next door who has lots of big boys toys! Got a quote from a company to get rid of all the bits, £480...no thanks...will look at another company and skip quotes as that is so much! Once we get rid of all the insides and shell, we are moving it down the garden into the wooded part where my trees are, we will check the chassis over and paint it to protect it from rust before figuring out how to build the base to start the tiny house! We got a lovely wooden window from a facebook site for a tenner, its big and looks good as well!

Thanks MFD! I am really hoping I will enjoy this job, fingers crossed, already thinking I could do dementia training, maybe even my nursing masters...lets not get carried away! Feel such a weight off having left my old job behind...
Have sorted out the new OP minus the car payments, OP is now £377 a month, so still a good whack, still have the options of sending extra OPs across as money appears and this should leave us in good stead for my new job! Also I think I worked out that the regular payment knocks off about £200ish so will be knocking £500 off every month! Woohoo!
Volunteered yesterday at the food bank as they were moving, moved so many bottles of water, achy legs today! Its ran through a church group, I am not a member nor inclined to join but have said for them to contact me if they need a second person or a delivery person. Have also contacted our local dog rescue and left a message about doing home visits and possibly signing up to do one afternoon a week dog walking, though I have my two dogs...haha. Dont want to foster again with nights starting and it was pure luck that this little dude was so quiet outside in our outdoor kennel, it will be too cold soon anyway. I see this all as soul food!

Looking good over here, so much going on
New car sounds great and still leaves room for an impressive OP each month.0 -
