Got home from work at 7:30 pm, fed the cats, emptied cat litter trays, let the cats out, took the dog out, came back, fed the dog, changed water for dog/cats, topped up cats dry food, portioned food for dog for tomorrow (dog walker feeds her midday after walking her), made hazelnut milk, steamed corn cob to take to work for tomorrow, made salad for work tomorrow, got clothes ready for tomorrow (that involves 15 min with a lint roller - with 4 cats and a dog life is like THAT.. sighhh but luv them furries), had a shower, took the dog for a pee, cleaned the litter boxes again, cuddles every furry so none feels left out.
And it is midnight
And have to wake up at 6:30 again
But you know what? I feel better, really do - I eat well, good food, have more energy (if I do not post anything over weekend that means I slept 48 hours to catch up heheheeheh), so I am doing something right....
Was asked at work if I want to work weekend (new system going live) - no wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy no even for double pay.
Commuting is KILLING me, 1.5 hour EACH way every day, half of it on Central Line squashed like a sardine, standing on one leg with someone's elbow in my back, my nose under some sweaty arm, someone's backpack in my face and listening to someone elses's BUM BUM BUM TRATATA "music" as they can't be considerate to others.......

Had to go into work today, weird hours too - 1pm till 9pm but managed to get away at 7:30 so was home before 9pm.
Before leaving in the morning, done most cleaning and 3 loads of washing (with a dog and 4 cats one has to sighhh), cleaned up kind of leaving vacuuming/mopping for when I get back, took dog for a walk and run off to work.
Got back home, took the dog out (she was out with emergency dog walker from 4 to 5 as can not leave her alone for so many hours), vacuumed, mopped, realised it was 11pm and decided to use the brand new tiny slow cooker that I recently bought
Wanted a small one (just me) and go this baby few days ago - was £20.98 when I bought it, including delivery, bit more today I see:

Waiting for the food to be ready - yes, gonna eat at 1:15 am0 -
Oh, forgot to show off my first attempt at making sushi - with help from:

Anyway - not bad for first time, huh?0 -
That sushi looks delish!
I'm intruiged to know how the broccoli and hazelnuts came out? :thinks:
Im still loving my green breakfast smoothies.
Intend to take my daughter a walk down our local estate. I could drive but there ia some beautiful scenery and a playpark at the end of it.
Have been doing split squats (ouch!), planks (oucher  ), normal squats and a few other things in between gym visits.
Im really enjoying seeing and feeling the difference in how i feel :j0 -
Well the broccoli - I had no idea about chocking hazelnuts in with broccoli so was curious too.
Turned out really nice though.
But I overcooked it.
Divided ingredient by 4 as was making just for myself and did not adjust the cooking time accordingly. It said 2-3 hours on fast and I turned off after 2.5 hours.
2 hours would have been enough - broccoli ermmm burnt a bit. In a slow cooker. Hmmmm
But it was really niceLemon and Hazelnut Broccoli;
900g broccoli florets
2 tbs olive oil
6tbs lemon juice
1/2 tsp sea salt
2tbs water
125g hazelnuts chopped (opsss i did not chop mine lol)
6 gloves garlic, crushed
salt and pepper to taste
Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker. Combine well, season, cover and leave to cook on high for 2-3 hours or until the broccoli is tender but not overcooked. Add a little more water during cooking if needed. Serve with soy-soaked noodles and a pinch of chili flakes.
Above from:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1909855006/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
says serves 4 at 271 cal per meal
S I divided the ingredients (not the liquids) by 4 and the overcooked.. and forgot to chop hazelnuts - and it was still lovely, very surprised how tasty the hazelnuts were yummy0 -
Sorry!! I have been away! Been terrible with food and exercise. Back on board tomorrow though, will do a workout before breakfast and food plans are porridge, soup, falafels with cous cous and roasted veg.
hope everyone is okay!0 -
I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooo gonna make this tonightRoasted cauliflower? A whole head of cauliflower? This recipe has you slathering cauliflower in a spicy yogurt marinade and roasting it at a high temperature. The result is an amazingly delicious dish that’s as dramatic in presentation as it is easy in preparation. Serve it with a big green salad (we suggest lime juice and olive oil for the dressing) for an easy weeknight supper.
Spicy Whole Ro...asted Cauliflower
Ingredients
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 head cauliflower
1½ cups plain Greek yogurt
1 lime, zested and juiced
2 tablespoons chile powder
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon curry powder
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 400° and lightly grease a small baking sheet with vegetable oil. Set aside.
2. Trim the base of the cauliflower to remove any green leaves and the woody stem.
3. In a medium bowl, combine the yogurt with the lime zest and juice, chile powder, cumin, garlic powder, curry powder, salt and pepper.
4. Dunk the cauliflower into the bowl and use a brush or your hands to smear the marinade evenly over its surface. (Excess marinade can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to three days and used with meat, fish or other veggies.)
5. Place the cauliflower on the prepared baking sheet and roast until the surface is dry and lightly browned, 30 to 40 minutes. The marinade will make a crust on the surface of the cauliflower.
6. Let the cauliflower cool for 10 minutes before cutting it into wedges and serving alongside a big green salad.0
