Evening!
Congratulations on all the new jobs :T
We've been out all aft, having cuddles with my cousins baby. Even DS asked to hold her. She is very good, and very cute. Aunt had been baking so home made pie and cake was consumed
Came home to find I too have been nominated for the ice bucket challenge. I know its all for charity and wotnot but really? How can I do it and film myself? Do you think DS could film me without getting my lard @rse in the frame? Or will DD pour a bucket over me? (Probably). And who do I dislike enough to nominate? Lol.
So not much achieved here, only feeding and bathing of kiddies who are both in my bed for a 10min snuggle. Then I'll be evicting them...Bossymoo

so long as you don't donate to the ALS association all is good.. lard a$$ or not. You can just donate if you so wish and decline the invitation.
Everyone who knows me knows I wouldn't do it so don't bother lol ... and most importantly.. you don't have to do it!!

Bossy have you thought about making HM Vegan ice cream for the little moos?
get a couple of ice cube trays, peel bananas and break into chunks the size of cubes, open freeze for a few hours til solid. Put in nice sturdy food processor and pulse until banana cubes are cut up into much smaller chunks. Throw in fresh fruit of choice , the drier the better(raspberries are the young Skints favourite) blend until smooth......transfer back to freezer in recycled ice cream tub for another hour if the Young Moos can wait that long. Scoop into cones and let them choose their own sprinkles (H&B do dairy free chocolate chips, which DD3 likes as a special treaty thing!)
HTH........righty ho, brew, listy and Fred in that order
I hope someone else posts shortly or I will be guilty of a double post. The cold never bothered me anyway0 -

Wash, dry, fold and box up all of the summer stuff. Put it in the attic or somewhere you don't have to see it for four or five months and deal with all of that next year. Anything that is for freezing cold weather can be put away in travel labelled suitcases for now - thick woollen sox, gloves and hats, sheepskin jackets etc (put moth-be-off stuff in, like lavender) and shove those somewhere they won't be in the way because you won't need to sort it for about six weeks unless you're in the north.
That'll clear enough space to give you room to actually see what you need to see you through the autumn and spring. Be ruthless. If you don't like it, it doesn't fit or it's worn out, let it go to somewhere where someone else can make use of it.Better is good enough.0 -
Cane Toads have been decapitated, put in the blender with a barrel of laughter here this week:
I have tidied out EX's shed which I am not allowed in.....found 2 unused bottles of Creocote, so saved me a bit of money on that score AND I found stuff I lent him years back to get some jobs done here, now safely in my "Mummy Tool Box"
sorted indoor "shed" hidden behind shower curtain, both under stairs cupboards done too. 2 dump runs. Took up kind offer from one of businesses in the industrial estate opposite to utilise some empty space in their skip which was due to be collected. degibbled upstairs landing, old carpet and grippers gone down dump
acquired some free wooden pallets to rest wood on ready to creocote, then it wil have a second use as fuel for stove.
kitchen counters and high chair cleaned and bleached
LR floor, hallway and kitchen hoovered, downstairs loo cleaned.
main bathroom and ensuite cleaned
DD4 room stripped back to basics ready to have a quick lick of paint
bargain upholstery fabric to match my sofas acquired on bay of e to make loose covers to protect furniture from youngest skints
DS/DD2 room degibbled ready to pack DD2 back to uni soon
new gate posts painted
group BD appointment decluttered
loft items gathered together ready to go up at some point.
flying achieved by DD3 bf and his mate........empty LR drawers taken to logcabin ready for a new life out there once EX disassembles main carcass, gutters on garage/utility/porch de-mossed. one downpipe drain dug out, loads of fence panels covered in creocote. loads of ivy removed from boundaries and nice NDN fence, old paving blocks brushed and cleaned ready for use round back of house, awkward shed panels moved ready for restoration, reclamation of weed control fabric and pegs, potting up of conifers removed from back garden, moss/algae scrapped of utility wall ready for pressure washing, general detris and builder's mess cleared up every night, moss scrapped off top of front brick boundary wall with nasty NDN and thoroughly dry brushed and swept afterwards, front security light cleaned and coated in metalwork paint to cover original flaking paint, gophering and barrowing for the builders, working on a chain gain with me to tidy and organise sheds, erecting gazebo for use during inclement weather, replacing batteries in long forgotten treasures from shed, spare black fireguard retrieved ready to use as a fireguard for stove, free firewood decanted from car into repurposed wicker toy baskets and plastic builders tubs, LR toys now all rehomed in plastic crates behind sofas, one small crate of non recyclable junk taken to dump from shed, windfall apples from nasty NDN's trees gathered up and put on their side of boundary. general keeping DS occupied and out from under builders feet and wheelbarrows in between jobs.
Phew! the boys are back on Monday after the weekend off, and hopefully I can put them on some painting tasks inside now I have gathered in all my painting supplies and know exactly what I have (including a DW cutlery basket which is now currently rehoming all MY paint brushes I have come across so instantly I have every size of brush at my disposal)
Meanwhile, I am going to try to catch up on some washing Saturday or Sunday whichever day the builder isn't here so I can put my not-so-smalls on the line.
Right, time to get a little shut eye before it all starts again, nighty night :wave:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Morning all
Well done Skinty!
Ran out of steam last night so went to bed, plan to be working on my list today, I've had enough gardening for one week o will concentrate on indoors and meal planning/shopping.
Off tomorrow for a lovely 'old' flylady meet with some absent friends which will be such fun.
Bossy - I haven't been nomiataed as I wouldn't do it. When DH said you would have to my answer was there is no law and I'm grown up, nobody tells me what to do. Great awareness though for those who want to do it. I'll probably choose a different small charity to donate to.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Ice bucket stuff, I wouldn't do, because, I visit a country where water is at a preimum on a regular basis, and this to mee seems like a waste of water, and as for main supermarkets runnig out of ice becasue of this, to me is just madness, not very mse at all.

Dusty, enjoy your meet tomorrow. I had the same view as you on the ice bucket challenge and just stood by with warm towels when the rest of the family did it last weekend. Hopefully, it will all blow over by next weekend and the next thing will come through. Maybe we can all start something sensible - an online challenge - which child can tidy and dust their room the quickest? - or something like that....ok so I'm getting carried away...literally...
This is my list for today:
Wash up after finishing breakfast
Finish putting my face on so I look human
Walk dogs and pop to local shops
Get hair cut (essential now that I will actually be seen in the new job)
Make banana cake (does anyone have an easy recipe, I have 3 very ripe bananas?)
Walk dogs again
Bath dogs
Hoover through house
Other things to be sorted this week:
Dog grooming and booster appointments
Find a dog sitter
Meal plan and batch cook ahead for when I'm in new job
So far today, I've done meal plan and shopping list for this week.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Todays task ... trying on school 'bottoms' .. not me obviously
... and writing names in everyones stuff.. I think I have put it off as long as I feasibly can!
OH can try Squeak in her stuff.. I need to try Dot in the nursery jumpers, see if she needs smaller, she isn't as huge as Squeak, Pixie isn't far off catching up!!
Land of Snot here today.. Me, Dot and Pixie are so far afflicted..
OH on DW duty later and he has stuff to put in the loft. I am quite excited about getting my new stacking crates.. my mess will be easier to sort as I move it to boxes which will be able to go in the loft and also be able to store things securely.. I want to go through all the landing boxes which are full of between size clothes!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
