Thanks HoneyB, that was a really helpful post.
Skint - wow what a list, we should have a flyer of the week, you would win it hands down.
So, started in DS2s bedroom. 41 (!) items of clothing removed that are mostly too small but also some that he just doesnt wear. Nearly all of it for the charity shop but one or two bits worth ebaying.
My bedroom next. Have ordered some storage boxes to put in the bottom of the wardrobe rather than the jumble that is in there currently. Going to be ruthless, keep muttering, if it doesnt fit or I havent worn it recently it has to go...0 -
Oooh I have been very naughty - been to M n S outlet and got a lovely Per Una skirt - and a Tshirt - size 14 for £12.49! - just couldn't leave them!!! Now off to find something too big to give to charity shop - one in and one out - even though I have very few clothes as it is!!
Now off to knit a few more rows!!July 16 £95/£200
Nov 16 £0/£200

Thanks skinty the first icecream DD had was made from cocoa almond milk and she loved it! To be fair it's the cones she likes, lol, although they often have milk products in. When things have settled down in a few weeks I shall do a review of our eating habits - we've already ditched the sweetie treatie bowl and they've stopped asking (they have pocket money now) so that's a great start.
FIL has painted my back fence this morning :A and now he's taken the kiddies back to theirs. I've vacced downstairs and rehomed lots of gibble. Washing is out on the line, bright and blustery. Might put another load in actually.
I'm going to my mums later, we are meeting family for an evening out and I'm going to stay at mums as it's a bit far to be getting home alone.
Might strip the kids beds too and considering having a nap (!)Bossymoo

Afternoon everyone! Feeling a bit blue today to be honest, jut taking it steady. Done a load in the WM, run DW and emptied and when it all got a bit too much went out in the greenhouse and tidied up a bit in there. We're not using it yet as DH has only just put it up but have plans! Then got Z's PE kit labelled and put in a bag so that's another job done. I think later we're going to get Z a mobile as she'll need one; not sure what sort or where from but DH is sorting it out.
Bossy your FIL sounds like a star to do your fence! We don't have any bright sun down here today, it's all a bit grey so could you send us some of your sunshine please.
JTTOU your clothes sound like a real bargain :T!Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

I had to think about it for quite a while before I realised it was that we bathe in drinking water and flush our toilets with it, as well. I'm so relieved I belong to a group of people who share my discomfort with the ice bucket challenge and are willing to say something about it, so thank you. (Saying that out loud all those years ago means I've never taken drinking water for granted since.)
Anyways - Flying - we've fed and walked Lizzie, been into town for our F&V and got rid of some dead water filter cartridges at the recycling point in @rgos; bed stripped; 2 WM loads done; indoor compost caddy cleaned out; apple & blackberry crumble made; Mr LW is currently giving the car it's weekly check; and later we'll be decanting the oil out of the dead deep fat fryer and taking said fryer to it's final resting place at the tip. There's a dead light bulb waiting to go too, so Mr LW can take that with him also.
I've talked Mr LW into not buying a new fryer til the kitchen's done; meantime, I found a simple (and fairly swift) HM oven-chip recipe, so will give that a go; what I'm hoping for is to quietly "forget" about buying a new fryer.;)
Ooh yes, and (not very MSE I know) we've booked two evenings at the theatre. We're going to see "The Mousetrap" on Sept 22nd, and then on Nov 18th there's a Glyndebourne production of "La Finta Giardiniera", an opera Mozart wrote when he was 18. We do get the disabled person + carer concession, so it's not as cripplingly expensive as it could be.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Just popping in to say hi :hello::hello:to anyone who remembers me. Just read through and still lots of familiar fly lady names.
Work and family life has taken up most of my time, but I do try hard to keep to my flying as much as I can. You've trained me well!
Dusty kitten - can't believe you have one off to uni, sure we were congratulating on GCSE results just a few days ago! Well done and good luck to both DS, terrific achievement. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

Jacket spuds are still rock hard :eek:Flyladies, just popping in from the paid stuff to say thank you for all your posivibes - I have a new job!! A bit more travelling so I won't be able to get so much flying done in the mornings any more, but I'm really looking forward to it.
Congrats to you and to Master Dusty too.
been gardening (finally) - cleared front border which has some sort of devious grass (twitch or couch) which sends 'runners'. Have removed plants, wriggled grass out of the roots, divided them and replanted, after LOTS of forking to move out grass roots. Then I tidied the strawberry [patch (but that's not finished). Surplus plants and weeds and devious grass have FILLED the green bin.
Found HUGE caterpillar. Is not in book (wildlife book has all butterflies and moths in but not all their larva) and I *think* it's some sort of moth like a hawk-type.
Have also been washing stuff for DD for Uni (kitchen stuff) as I don't really want to have to leave her to do it when she has moved in. So, once it's all clean I shall wrap it in kitchen towel (those huge rolls are half price in Morries atm) and store it in a clean plastic box. While she doesn't go for a couple of weeks I thought I would get it all sorted before I go back to work. DD is MUCH better equipped than DS was (and he was quite well set up) because I now know what is necessary. I have also bought them both 4 tea towels and some dishcloths. DD is taking some plates I have in the cupboard and mugs we don't use:money:. The only things she will need to wash when she gets there are her pans. (Since they are boxed I am leaving them like that;))
HELLO SERENA
re the Ice Bucket - if I were nominated I wouldn't be doing it and I won't be donating. I have had, for some years, a small DD to Wateraid. because I believe everyone should have access to clean, safe water.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Have flown the chalet with OH and rescued all the rest of the china that we both really love before it gets any more dented - a new plate from the set we bought in France is already chipped. Grr. Chazza shop stuff from now on for over there. Mouse repellers plugged back in, shower and towel rail switched off (!) and all's well with the world.
OH is off to watch his team, so I can spend the rest of the day reading. Lovely.Better is good enough.0 -
Afternoon all
Valli - great going in the garden. I did that horrid job last year re the grass and it has made about a 90% difference this year. I've still got to sort my strawberry beds too.
Serena hi and lovely to see you. You are right time has passed so quickly but I am glad they are both looking forward to going and doing things they want to do. How are your 3?
I've been mainly working on paperwork this afternoon. There is still masses to do but I have made a start. Hoovered upstairs for a break from it. Cat bedding washing, just have a sofa left to hoover but flagging a bit now, which is usual for me at this time. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
