sounds like your chat with DS1 did some real good - how old is he?

Morning. DS is 15. I suspect some of this helpfulness is to do with the fact that he isnt going to get pocket money unless he helps but I have tried to get across to him that it really makes a difference to me if everyone else pitches in. I had a mad day yesterday and because he had walked the dog it was one less thing I had to fit in. If only I could get the same message across to DS2.

Jazee, good luck with the boss. I have got an appraisal coming up and I hate these things.

Feeling tired and a bit bleugh this morning. Lots of paid stuff and plenty of flying needs doing. Roll on the weekend x

    Good morning all

Lovely patterns, pigpen. The shawl looks beautiful, I am almost tempted...
Bossy, your young man is growing up fast!
Sounds like your DS1 is a good'un too, YorksLass!
Glad you're having a couple of fun days, Loopy-Loo.
Good luck with your boss, Jazee.
Hope you're feeling better today, Dusty and LW (and Mr LW).

I have had a decent night's sleep, thanks to the injection in my shoulder, and feel loads better this morning - despite having cleaned all the downstairs windows, inside and out, between 8.00 and 8.30 pm last night!

Had a lovely surprise when I logged onto online banking earlier to discover that some young friends of ours have repaid me an interest-free loan (towards their wedding: they also had to find visa fees for the American bride at the same time) in full, 2 years early. They've certainly got their finances well under control :T :T

One set of guests expected to lunch and another to tea today. Lasagne meat prepped and cooked, just needs building later this morning and baking at teatime. Gammon has simmered in the SC overnight, so is ready to remove after breakfast, and I shall pop the chicken breasts in the stock - it's not too salty, I have checked :D ). So all under control. Apart from that I just need to:

    - tidy the papers in my study (not too bad atm)
    - make fruit jelly and (later) prep SW chips and wash sugar snaps for tea
    - prepare SW crunchy slaw for lunch (don't think I've got any cabbage, but thinly sliced cauli florets are a good substitute, and I've got carrots and radishes to brighten it up)
    - slice mangoes for meringue nests for lunch
    - clean the bedroom windows inside and out with DH's help (need long arms rather than a ladder!)
    - dust and hoover all through - easy now it's tidy :)
    - S&S ensuite and bathroom, taking care not to disturb the huge Tegenaria who popped out to watch me clean my teeth last night :j but she really is a beauty and I'm happy to have her as a lodger [apologies if TMI for arachnophobes]
    - get DH to phone to check the level of our travel insurance :money:
    - enjoy the visitors :D

First cuppa decluttered already, now I need another one.

Hope everyone has a good day. My spoon jar is refilling nicely now after being completely empty at the start of the week - many many thanks to all who helped me out :grouphug:- so please take some if you need them. The Flylady community is wonderful! xxx

Good morning! DS has just appeared in his suit all ready for his induction day at his new sixth form. He looks very smart and grown up. I've got used to him being around over the summer so I shall miss him now!

This morning I need to make a chicken and gammon pie for dinner, as the plumber is coming at one and I don't know how long he will be. Plus cleaning. Lots of it!

    Have a good day

    Morning all

Bossy thanks for sharing your lovely photo

Mumto2 hope the bus journey goes ok. DS3 started secondary last year and he was the only one who went, he made friends really easily. He has a HH bus journey everyday and he loves it. Public bus along quite a pretty route, on the way home it usually gets any grumps from the day out of him too. His is a long day 7:45-4:30 so he found it a little tiring at first.

Dentist for us this morning and my other paid gardening job this afternoon. Hope to pick blackberries with DS3 in between.

    Morning!

Thanks Jazee she's mostly grown out of it now, but they think her bowel is distended from frequent bouts of constipation, and they think it will take some time as she grows for it to "reshape" itself, hence the medication. TMI!!! Good luck with your boss later!

Sounds like you are having a positive run, ionafan x

    Our plan today is to:
Pop to Mr S to see if I can get some white trainers for DS
And possibly some elastic for my blind repair
Then home and need to vac the entire ground floor and clean downstairs loo.
Then off to my aunts this afternoon.

Upstairs looking good except the pile of CS stuff on the spare room floor. Need to call hosp about something, and book a lane for bowling on Monday.

Hope you all have a good day!

Anybody fancy a new term September Challenge? Ideas please? We could go for:

    A creative thing
    An exercise thing
    A financial thing
A sociable thing (ha that made lots of you shudder)
    Our biggest frog
    An ebay challenge?
    Me Mountains?

Anybody wish to volunteer to run it with stars each week for achievements?

Dot up and fed, Cuppa made.. On with my knitting while I wait for Moomin to surface so I can go in the bathroom. I hope to get the bodice of the dress finished before my 11am appointment!

Thankfully it didn't rain last night so my dry washing on the line is still dry, I just had nowhere to air it off so I left it out until it gets sunny and I can whizz it 10 minutes in the TD.

I also want to get through a chunk of this horrid landing of mine. I ordered some stacking boxes last night so I can sort through the clothes we want/need to keep but stack them cleanly and out of the way in the loft. I also ordered a set of bunks and 2 chests of drawers.. there goes the christmas money :p I decided it is pointless saving money for Christmas presents when I have no house to put presents in because the house is so disorganised already. I don't have any room to put anything so I hope to deal with that. I WILL be organised and tidy! and one day minimalist!!
