Very relieved for your DD, pigpen. Please ask the baby to wait to share my birthday!
Painkilling vibes to LW. You are very wise to ask Mr LW's friend to help you - I'm sure he will be delighted to be able to do it. And doubtless he will share a  with you both ;)
Bossy, you know your DD better than anyone. "Everything in moderation" sounds a good plan to me.

    - Trustees' Report written.
    - Hospital appointment decluttered. Very nice doctor with medical student in attendance. Was told I was a classic case of torn shoulder tendons and arthritis of the collarbone joint. The tendons will never mend themselves and I don't want an op, so I've just got to live with the condition for the rest of my life, but the doc has given me a massive painkilling injection which is working well and I've got to go back in 3-4 months' time. Hey ho! I realised today how very lefthanded I have become, to avoid pain, and thankfully I have at last worked out how to sleep comfortably with a pillow behind my spine - I shall survive, and I can still do most things including driving and gardening in moderation.
    - On my way back from the horse piddle I called at my favourite window installation company to return the chisel which one of the partners in the business dropped down among the cotoneaster branches when they replaced the garage window a year ago. It finally re-emerged when I was chopping back the branches to make room for gladioli! Had a long chat with J in the office (the wife of the other partner).
    - Food shopping completed. Managed to find some fresh figs for J (she'd mentioned that she couldn't find any in their local shops) so drove 5 miles back to the trading estate, hoping to be able to deliver them. Everyone except R had gone home by then, but he has put them in the fridge. I just hope he remembers to tell J tomorrow!!!
    - Also managed to get myself these trousers in a size 12 - very classy, woot woot :D

Will now feed us both, maybe tackle a window or two before the sun goes down, tidy round ready for cleaning early tomorrow morning, and then sit down with a :coffee: at 9.00 to watch WDYTYA?

Nice troussers Iona, and thanks for the WDYTYA heads up, I'll watch that.

Just need to finish off in the kitchen then I'll do the list and get the ironing board out, feeling quite tired but I have done a fair bit today including a short cycle ride and an hour's gardening.

Ive just finished labelling, and sewing a few identifying buttons in the expensive logo sweaters / cardies easier than them having to read the labels. Did this for DD earlier this year and she never lost her cardi after that - it had been taken home by someone else almost weekly prior to that. DS probably won't wear his for a while yet and he loves the cotton tank tops I bought him. But the sweaters still need to be de-fuzzed on the inside with the lint roller. He only tried his stuff on for 2 min earlier and his tshirt was blue. Might show you a pic of how cute he was being trying things on for me.

Next job is to repair the blind I made for my ensuite window (out of a fleece blanket lol) I washed it and it got a bit tangled, but should be easy enough to fix.

We are out all afternoon tomorrow so I think I'll cook jacket spuds in the morning and take some butties with us in case they are hungry before we are home.

My cousin is having some of our jigsaws and DDs balance bike for her youngest, and my other cousins wife will be there too with our new baby in the family, so have gift and card ready for them. DD is looking forward to seeing the new baby. So am I ;) DS couldn't give a fig :rotfl:

Ahh Bossy you have such gorgeous kids.

So .. paid stuff this morning, then did a 40 minute round trip to take DS2 to a friends house, 2.5hrs voluntary work, quick tea, back to job number 1 for a meeting, then some spreadsheets that had to be finished for job number 2. What a mad day! Sorry, no flying at all.

DS1 and I had a heart to heart about him doing stuff and what a star he has been, walking the dog, hoovering, making an apple crumble because he didnt want the apples on the tree to waste. He has just brought me a cup of tea. Bless.

Anyhow, off to bed now, night all x
  • evening :)
done no flying today but I did spend the morning at a playcentre with dd2 & her friends & my nephew, then we all went for lunch, spend some time with my sis this afternoon & been at dance with both my girls this evening, so a very sociable day :)
tbh the bathrooms are a blue job in our house & the study is def dh room so I figured I didn't miss much anyway lol
will try & catch up with washing tomorrow but I'm meeting an old friend for coffee in the afternoon & then am out with dh & his friends in the evening (this never happens I don't remember the last time I got an invite!).
    see you all tomorrow

Morning all! Up early cos Z and I are catching the 8.05 bus as a practise for next Tuesday. I couldn't sleep so have done some paid stuff but am off now to put the kettle on and make everyone a cup of tea.

S is going to a friends house for the day :T so just me and Z until she goes to a friends barbeque at 4.30 - her whole Y6 class were invited and it'll be the last time Z sees a lot of the children as she's not going to the same school as all of them (apart from the girl who is holding the barbeque who is going to a different school as well iyswim). The school they're all going to is huge and a cattle market - DH and I hated it on our visit and when we took Z it's the only one she said she didn't want to go to. She'll be in the same class as her cousin at this one so at least she'll know someone but the main thing is it has a much nicer feel to it and isn't so huge.

I love that scarf pattern Pigpen but it looks quite tricky to me; have fun at the wool shop!

Bossy your little man looks really grown up, bless him!

Yorkshirelass sounds like your chat with DS1 did some real good - how old is he?

Dusty how are you feeling today? Sounds like you had a good day yesterday.

Right, best get me bum in gear. The dogs have come in now and are giving me 'the look' ..... kettle on first though!

Morning all, the only flying I got done yesterday was cleaning the insides of the downstairs windows before the paid stuff, and the dailies.

This morning a bit of paperwork to do before the paid stuff. All a bit manic at the moment. Wish me luck in a discussion with my boss later today....

Bossy - DS has a restricted diet and has never tolerated dairy. While you know best and everything in moderation is a good idea, I find that sorbet is a good alternative to icecream as a treat.

Hope that helps and that everyone is ok and has a great day.
Spend less now, work less later.
