Giving it another go.

I have decided to return after having an unplanned debt free journey break.
I didn't want to carry on with my old diary as I wanted to start again fresh.
So the last time I was here I managed to reduce my debt from £52k to just over £4k. The first few months of this year was very difficult and I think I just got so fed up of everything falling apart around me. So now I have a brand new bathroom and have redone all our bedrooms. I had not decorated or renewed anything in the house in the last 13 years and it was time to upgrade before it drove me crazy. My debt has now increased to £14,529.96 which is a shame but this time it was worth it and I know exactly what the money was spent on.

Now I need to get back on the horse and blast this debt.

Good for you ..its soooo not easy , we have a couple of credit cards, a loan and a big mortgage - we try our hardest and pay decent amounts off c cards each month - but we had the same issue - get it all down and paid off then something need replacing, something else breaks down, we had to get some new carpets and our car died so we felt it false economy to get an old banger again so we got something decent, then the washer needs replacing or the tumbler :(
  • Thank you both for visiting

  • It's been a busy few days and have only just managed to get a quite hour with everything else going on.

Just paid £500.87 off my Capital 1 card. I really wanted to pay £600 but I don't want to push it too quickly.

    Balances now
    Capital 1 £600
    MBNA £2910.60
    Egg £3820.73
    Loan £6697.76

    Total £14029.09

My direct debits are due over the next few days for my cap1 and mbna card hopefully this will then bring my balance below £14k.

Now need to pay for my car tax £180 and my accounts subscription :(

  • Returned from my morning walk. Walked 3.8 miles, taken 12077 steps and burned 208 kcal. Achieved my daily target of 10,000 steps a day.

Banked checked and a direct debit I cancelled for the gym has still gone out. I will need to call the bank later to see if this can be reversed.
Other bank account checked and now I only have a balance of £6.48 :( I am trying really hard to not go into my overdraft at all this month, I hope I can make it until Friday.

  • Back in from work and my feet are very sore.
I did put £15 of petrol into the car just in case I wasn't going to make it to work and back.
I received £60 for working today, more than I was expecting but always happy to receive :)
Just called the bank about the direct debit and they have confirmed it was cancelled and I should see it back in my account tomorrow :)
I'll give BT a call tomorrow for my refund on my line rental, they have had it for the last 6 months and I'd like it back now.

    15784 steps completed today
5 miles walked 261 cals burned.

  • Morning walk completed 10162 steps taken and walked 3.2 miles.
Still £6.48 in bank 1 and now £274.42 in bank 2. Payments have been made and now waiting for £180 to be taken out for my car tax. This will then leave me with £94.42.

I have missed one other debt which I forgot about. I pay £38.61 but I don't know how much I owe. I am going to try and find the paper work for it and add it to everything else. I might as well own up to everything.
