  • Got my new cards at last today, and my remaining pints balance.

Assuming someone else comes along with an Amazon reward card I won't be unhappy to see the back of this card, the unpredictability of when statements were generated always got on my nerves...

Tell me, which card offers pints as in incentive :beer: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Same here, I also got a letter with the same offers I could see in my online account before calling to close the card.
It takes their systems up to 30 days to stop considering you an active customer, as they warned me when I called to close the account.
Just wait and your account will eventually be reported as settled to the CRAs.

Actually if you log in to your online account and click the "Cards overview" button you should see that your account is already listed as closed.

I think its poor that they offer some the points card, and others not suppose maybe as I pay in full
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I got told it might take up to 8 weeks for them to stop contacting me regarding my account but they confirm it has been closed and I have got letters confirming it too.
  • Called to close account. I too always paid in full so suspect that was the reason for not getting a reward card. I spent just over £10,500 a year so they earned from the % they charged retailers. Pure greed.
On the same day as I cancelled I received sn email linking me to a survey comparing Amazon Card and MBNA card.
Given the volume of closures they may well think again. It would have to be very special to tempt me back

I also received a non reward card, which I have cancelled, as I paid the outstanding balance each month. I have another reward card with MBNA but have taken out another card with another organisation as I intend to close the MBNA card. I'm not impressed with the way they have dealt with Amazon customers who paid in full and have decided that I would prefer not to have any products from MBNA.
  • I talked to MBNA today asking why my Amazon card was converted into a non-reward card. They say that if I wanted a reward card I would have to apply for one. Why couldn't they just apply my credit line to a new account??

I was not too happy about that, but given that the reward deal is decent and that I was happy with MBNA handling my account for the past 3 years, I decided to do that. Let's see...
