Does anyone have or even has anyone heard of bread bags? I found this in the Lakeland catalogue. I wonder if they work?

It says that after one week, fresh bread will taste just as good as on the day it was baked.0 -
They look like they'd be a pain to get all the crumbs out of and keep clean though.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. You just turn the bag inside out and shake out the crumbs - they can also be machine washed. We find they do keep the bread softer - but at the expense of the hard crust which also become soft. The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -

Or freeze yr bread pre-sliced and just take out what you need for each day, or as you go. Saves me lots of mouldy bread cos i eat quite a bit at work and never know from meal to meal where i 'll be.0

I've got one of these from Lakeland:
http://www.lakelandlimited.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/GBP/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=qap8VgmbCa2VfUsbBvlwUKFbYqbxiu43_5Q=?ProductID=tWHCy5OSu5EAAADjLUuEgEQP
It's really good at keeping the fresh. The crust does soften a little, but not as much as keeping it in a plastic bag or the fridge.
It also comes with a slicing guide which is useful if you are like me and start off with a nice thin slice that ends up an inch thick by the time you get to the bottomHere I go again on my own....0 -

Okay, I've just started off my first new loaf of bread in the breadmaker under the new regime.
Whenever I've stored crusty bread before, the crust isn't crusty after less than a day. I have a bread crock (and yes, it matches my other storage containers too), but I never know whether to put the loaf in there neat, in a plastic bag, a paper bag, or a greased proof bag.
I was going to post a new thread for this, then realised that there must be one existing already. So I stopped being lazy and looked.
