You'll be saving money by making your own bread - so use those saving in advance!!!!
Sorry - I can justify ANYTHING if I want it enough(that is my pre-MSE self coming out  )
Well that's the problem. My thinking goes I deserve it AND it'll be an investment because it'll last forever(ish). But it's still a lot of money for a tin box!
I would be careful with a plastic bag. They tend to encourage moisture, if kept too warm, and that breeds the mouldy spore thingies.
Yes, I can see damp in the bag - that's why I want a gorgeous bread bin.:D
My INSTANT response was WHAT?????
Um... I want one of those gorgeous bread bins like what Debt Free Chick's got ... because I'm worth it ... and it's an investment...
I guess it depends on how long it might take you to devour a loaf - but I've found that bread keeps a LOT better in the fridge if you have room for it. The crust softens, true, but I've had mould free non-dry bread ten days with no problems.
Nope, no room in the fridge ... honest!

I was really lucky and got a round enamel bin reduced down to £3 in the online M & S sale pre christmas. It's great! It was a christmas pressie for my hubby as he like to make the bread!0

I have a metal one I bought in Matalan for about £8. They tend to have copies of latest fashion kitchen utensils in Matalan really cheap.
In the summer I too keep my bread in the fridge. We don't eat much bread on a daily basis so we waste less bread.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

bump!
Magentasue
Walking through TJ Hughes at the weekend, I noticed they had cream enamel bread bins - £8.99 (I think, certainly not much more than that)
I then racked my brains for ages thinking "I *know* someone who wants one of those......."
Have you got a TJs near you?0 -

My Mum used to have a bread crock - earthenware it was, and it sat on the floor because it doubled as .... a door stop! :rotfl:
Ooooh, I'd lurve one of those enamel ones (with the matching coffee/tea/sugar caddies of course) - they'd look just perfect in my kitchen.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
