Bread bins are one of those things I always see in charity shops. Of course, that means it's one of those things that you won't find when you actually go to a charity shop in search of one.:beer:0

i use this http://www.lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx/!5052 it comes with a cutting guide as well which is great if you don't want doorstops!
That Lakeland site is full of kitchen !!!!!! that sets me drooling.
However, I don't know about that particular bread box... it looks like it only accomodates one shape of loaf.:beer:0 -

Don't start! I've just moved and they've sent me a bloomin' catalogue to "welcome me to my new home"

And, I was just wondering... is the phrase "bigger than a breadbox" common in the UK?
An example: "Why aren't you wearing a coat?! Where is your coat? You know... that really expensive item I bought you for your birthday? Red with black trim? Bigger than a breadbox?"
I used to think only my mother used that expression, until I heard someone say it in a movie.:beer:0 -

Hi
As the title suggests I am wondering how you lot on here keep your bread fresh. At the moment we keep ours in a carrier bag then it get put into the bread bin, which is a wooden lift off lid kind (not airtight). Although the bread is usually eaten by the end of day two DH is complaing that it is not staying fresh.....
Does anybody have any ideas please.

Hi redmel,
There's an older thread that should give you some ideas so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the suggestions together.

We keep our bread in the slow cooker!!
I was looking at the crock type bread bins for ages and then realised that it was pretty much the same as my slowcooker.
What do we do when we need to use the slow cooker? Put the bread into the other one of course!! (Every house needs a huge one for batch cooking and a smaller one for 1 meal cooking!0
