Times change. Markets change. Needs change. Its the 21st century you know? :cool:0 -
When you signed up in 1950- something, you didn't have a choice. It was a GPO phone, or post a letter instead. And I believe the wait for a line was usually several months.
Now you do have a choice, so if you don't like BT's terms, then leave. There are plenty of alternatives.Your childish multiple cheque methods just ultimately put the prices up for all BT's other customers. Of course paying by cash costs more to process. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
There is one idea from the good olde days that we can revive.
Halls of residence used to have one pay phone at the end of the corridor. A village used to have one public phone booth for everyone.
Share one line with broadband between two houses. If the signals permit, you don't even need extension cables.
Love thy Neighbour? Now there's a reason for it.0 -

Anyway on my latest bill which I pay by cash in the bank I have now divided by 20 and have written 20 cheques to the total and sent them in the post. BT can earn their £6 sifting through those and paying the bank charge to pay them in.
I have no idea why you feel this was an appropriate action to take...0 -

That is actually a very good idea. The broadband shared between neighbours and splitting the cost.0 -

Because I am paying £6 and think the person/company earning it should do something to earn it?
Like I said earlier the charge is £2 a month - so if I paid monthly it would cost £2 a month allegedly to process a payment but instead BT charge 3 x £2 = £6 to process one payment so it is really just a rolling punitive charge.
Why does it cost them £6 to process a payment each quarter but only £2 to process a payment every month?
That question asked I BT and also what the charge actually pays for and the person at "complaints" became very evasive. BT also seem unwilling to provide a detailed breakdown of what this charge covers and the costs involved to generate that particular figure.
Anyway I am owed now £59 by BT and they have 10 days to pay me back - the same amount of time they expect me to pay in and if they don't pay me I think I should expect to charge a £7.50 late payment fee - you know like they do.0 -

I am alerting all BT SPORT pack subscribers to this. I was phone by BT a few weeks ago to renew my contract. They asked me if I wanted BT sport pack . I said "no" they insisted to take it out as it was FREE so I said ok. I was shocked when I got a £3.00 charge! when I phoned up they said that was for the SPORTS HD PACK. I told them I was not informed of this as I was told all was FREE .
so beware BT say the bt sport is free which it is but they do not tell you that they add HD ON FOR £3.00 A MONTH.
HOPE THIS HELPS0 -
There has always been a £3 additional charge for High Definition which is not included in the "free" offer. Only BT Sport in standard definition incurs no charge to BT subscribers.
This is the first instance I've seen reported of a customer accusing BT of adding the HD service without it being actually requested.0 -

Except you'll find that sharing the service between properties is a breach of the t&c's in every telcoms contract-not that enforcement is very likely.
And neighbours are usually averse to sharing all their data, which would frequently result. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
