Receipts from the past week add up to £41.72 - leaving me with £127.32/£200 in the budget for the month. At a third of the way through the month this looks reasonably on track.

  • Had NSD's since been on here last (7/09 I think) fridge not looking great except for a big bowl of hm veg soup and hm apple sauce. Fruit bowl is empty too, but the freezer is full to burst inc. fruit, so I need to find new ways to add frozen/cooked fruit into our meals. I AM NOT GOING TO SM UNTIL SUNDAY!!! :( (We'll see) My 6 yr ds has already done a food list and stuck to fridge! oops lol

Small shop, 2 types of cat litter  as one kitten won't use the same litter everyone else uses. Reduced pizza, will freeze for tea on Drama group night next week ;) and kitten food.
  • Found a recipe to make Soda bread which happened to use Wholemeal SR flour so only a little bit of that to use up now. Soda bread in the oven, also made peanut butter cookies for the first time today and have had to freeze some as I kept eating them :o

Small shop today for apple juice for DS, he has it in his breakfast (swiss bircher) sometimes and watered down with meals and flour for my bread. I also picked up some YS chicken breasts, not a great reduction but it's better than nothing and I use chicken all the time - already have more meals planned than chicken breasts ;)

Off to update signature and rejig meal plan.

My total is now £128.18 out of £200 with 3 weekly shops to go.

I can tell I have been shopping more at Aldee when Mr T send me a £6 off coupon and the minimum spend is only £40 instead of the usual £60!:D I will make use of that tomorrow.

There is a new ALdee opening up near me (closer than the one I go to which is only 15 minutes away) and today I received a leaflet with 4 x £5 off £30 minimum spend coupons for the next 4 weeks from next week:D

I feel like I have been give £26 as the minimum spends are what I spend anyway including DH beer/my wine.

Meal plan done for next 2 weeks and shopping list done for Mr T.

Tonight we are having veggie chilli on spicy wedges with a little cheese on top. I padded the chilli out with an extra onion, an extra pepper and frozen sweetcorn so there is enough for DH to take to work tomorrow. I will make some extra wedges for him too.

Cat food stock up (good for more than 2 months so will balance out next month) and l!dl stock up have me left with only 1/3 of the budget for 2/3s of the month! But I have quite a lot of food in stock now so with some careful planning I should be ok.

I shall keep the Scottish holiday out of the GC as it would be too complicated to account for.

This month is still experimental, the difficulty being the lack of proper kitchen facility. The builders are really taking the proverbial, they keep not turning up. Meanwhile it is very hard to plan and budget accordingly in these conditions. So, all considered I am not doing too badly.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Went to the gym this evening and on my way back, I decided to do next week's grocery shopping which I had previously planned to do tomorrow on my way from work. Figured I could kill 2 birds with one stone. Got so many items on huge discounts and ended up spending £12.42 which brings my total so far to £37.47/£100
£47605.33 outstanding in C.C (£8000 Interest free till January 2025)
