  • I've been a bit slack updating this as it's been a busy week - had a wedding last weekend, then first full week back at school, so not had much time for anything!

I've now gone through everything, and have spent £213.93 so far, and as it's pay day, I'm halfway through my first challenge and have only spent 36% of budget :T.

    Hi everyone,

    Budgets updated to here :)

    Welcome ej22 :D

I have spent a fair bit in Tesco over the last 10 days - it's my closest SM and I can walk there and back in 5 mins. I'm doing SW and am trying to adapt meals for the family so we can all eat the same thing - did mac and cheese last night - yum.

I have £171 to last until 24th which is totally doable (she says....)

    Meal plan:

Tonight - HM SW spicy pork patties, SW chips, salad
Saturday - HM SW quick chicken tikka, rice and naan for family
Sunday - BBQ with extended family to celebrate my birthday
Monday - LO BBQ meat for family, soup for me as it's weigh night and I'm back late
Tuesday - Baked lemon and pepper salmon, jacket potatoes, salad
Wednesday - Pizzas and salad for family, soup and roll for me (DS2 doing an 11+ type exam and we will be back late plus its youth club)
    Thursday - spaghetti bolognaise

Will shop again fully on Friday but will need a small top up during the week for milk, salad etc. Going to Costco on Monday (for the youth club tuck shop) so will try not to get my usual £80 of personal stuff! Only really need fruit flakes (pack of 20 for £5) and juice cartons (24 for about £4) for DS2's packed lunches.

    Sorry for the ramble ;)

I had to buy cereals yesterday, and instead of fast food Friday today, I bought all the bits to make my own burgers in buns,

I have DS home today poorly with a cold, I am coming down with it too :(
Means I can stay home and have a NSD tomorrow - duvet, movies and homemade popcorn I think.

mmmmm duvet, movie and homemade popcorn what more could anyone ask for.

  • I forgot to bring in my lunch today so I had to buy something in town. £1.70 for an egg mayo baguette. That could definitely have been better spent on something else. Oh well. First time in 6 weeks+. That's not too bad.

Also spent £1 on eggs and 80-something p on tomatoes.

No idea what else I need for the weekend - stocks are so-so at the moment. A small bit of everything; not a lot of anything. Half a pint of milk, 4 eggs, 1 tin of tomatoes, 1 tin of beans... At least I've got the ingredients I need for my Cook Something Different thread new recipe for the week, so that's the tricky bit done.

I'll catch up on the working out the total so far bit another time.
    Saving for deposit: Finished! :j
    House buying: Finished!
Next task: Lots and lots of DIY

Spend of £3.51 in aldi yesterday on 3x carrots, 3x tomatoes and 3 x celery great value at 39p each and will last me a couple of weeks, I want to try pickling some carrots and will put the celery in a vase with water , it roots and keeps going for ages, maybe dehydrate some tomatoes

Then £4.00 on the market got loads cabbage, runner beans, cauli, and broccoli, melon, grapes apples and satsumas.
again enough to keep me going for a couple ofweeks, also picked a load of blackberries and elderberrys.

And a whole 20p on a killo of bananas in Asda, must be the least I have ever spend in there:rotfl::rotfl:
