£1.90 spent on 8 pints of milk today
Also claimed my free N@k'd bar (thanks to the link from Martin). Then I ate it before I came home, but I did do a 9 mile round trip on foot in order to get itCheryl0 -

I wondered about this too but i guess it is just for fun. Maybe?

I've been reading lots of posts on and off too and inspired by OS MSE I did a FULL inventory today, cupboards and freezer (haven't done fridge yet), I've never done that before! I have a list which at some point I shall turn into a spreadsheet, I have some ideas of creating a shopping list somehow from it. For now I plan on finding recipes to use up the old cupboard lurkers, on that note if anyone has some suggestions to use the following I would be grateful
Mushroom Cup a Soup (other than drinking as is of course)
Oatmeal (I think I was using this in crumble topping?)
Wholemeal Self Raising flour - can I just mix this with normal SR flour in any recipe?
Also I have stock in the freezer from December 2013 I think it's ham stock from my Boxing Day Gammon, is this still safe to use?
DH seems to think my 2013 Sushi rice is no longer safe to eat but I can't see why?
Thanks for your help
I'll be back later tonight, or tomorrow to update my spends - bit behind.Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013

Stocked up on various offers (needed) at okado so I get free delivery, £40, then another nearly £9 in marks, YS jackpot, 2 posh continental cheese boxes at half price, works out cheaper than l1dl cheddar per Kg! And a few posh flapjacks super reduced too, for DH's packed lunches.
Am half way through budget and quite well stocked up now, should make it with a bit of careful spending. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hi,
I've managed to spend just £84.57 in the month so far, This may sound a lot but is really good for me. I have managed by only buying essentials, making yummy teas from scratch and taking packed lunch to work. Ive also stopped buying sweets when I fill up the car so it should help my weight and teeth as well.

A couple of small spends in the last couple of days on things like milk and bread. I also didn't resist the mini Thorntons shortcakes in my local Tesco last night that had been reduced to 12p. It would have been criminal to leave them
I also added another £5.40 in to the pot as I got cashback from a shopping app and that all goes back to the challenge.
I'm now at £113.49 left from £175.0 -
Well I am over (my weekly) budget but I did an online shop for my cleaning items and a few tins which came to nearly £30. I need to try and come in under budget if I can over the next few weeks so doing some baking over the next few days to cover snacks and I'm going to make some soda bread this afternoon.
Last night had the most amazing sandwich, we didn't have enough wraps for 2 nights of fajitas (DH requested the same again) so we used up the sauces etc in sandwiches. I had a sandwich with a layer of smokey BBQ sour cream, lettuce, juicy fajita coated chicken topped with homemade guacamole.
Also going to be making jam soon, we went blackberry picking last weekend and we picked about 3lb have enough for 2 jam recipes and some crumbles, Mum's bringing more apples next week so I will make a blackberry and apple jam and DH has been collecting elderberries for a blackberry and elderberry jamWill use some for Christmas presents.
Going for another long walk this weekend so might pick some more blackberries again.Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013
