September 2014 Grocery Challenge

Just a quick post to say I spent a few hours reading OS money saving last night, and felt totally disappointed in myself - as last year I really put in loads of effort to cut back the cost of my weekly shop - so much so that the money I saved buying reduced items/bargains/reducing waste paid for many of my driving lessons!
In shame I went and looked at Augusts totals on the bank statement, and was mortified at how much I had let things slip.
So as of today, we have a weekly budget drawn out in cash (no debit card payments instore from now on), and i'm working the two purse system, anything left over goes into the second purse - and fast food is officially off the menu for now, shocking how much I had spent on junk.
I have spent the morning rotating the cupboards, freezer and fridge. Found two lime jellies I didn't even know we had too - so were making those today, then I went to the shop to look for a few bargains, and I am a little bit excited about going over again later looking for stickered items.
Thanks for the push again, MSE'ers are truly inspiring.
Ooh also trying toast potatoes with the skins left on today, spotted that somewhere on MSE yesterday and thought I would give that a go too! The chicken will last us two days. ^^Wishing you all good luck!

Top up at tesco but kept to my list. £10.23. That brings me to £64.07/£250. I'm not including the clothes and duplo train I bought my son. I did include tissues and paracetamol.0

I've been missing but still keeping track. I have a budget of £240 this month to last until the 3rd of October.
I had a spend today of just over £61 on a large stock up shop. This was mainly meat and baking supplies so it should last a while.
I've just used 1 of the chicken breasts I bought to make 6 small chicken pies.£36/£240
£5522

My (still quite young) kids used to love these. As far as I know, they haven't eaten them for a while.Might have a go at making them.
I have been tweaking my (SW) diet over the last few days,so despite having shopped on Saturday, and still having lots of food in the house,I wanted to do abit of a top-up.
So today have spent £26.09 in ALDI,and £38.17 in Tesco,total £64.26.
So,spends so far this month total £124.12/300.
Here you go.
