I hate my Henry. Its useless on my carpets because of the dog hairs. Hubby uses it in the shed and to clean the car out.... smiley face or not its useless for me.

Jojo, you could treat it as a whole host of experiments. I remember when I was getting to grips with OS and being frugal I would bounce around these threads honing and learning new skills.

The adventure became my purpose and I began to thrive of learning new things and taking control.

A busy bod is a happy bod in my eyes. On days where I felt down and felt like I had very little purpose I would make sure I gave myself a purpose. Nothing like a list of must do's to make you focus and once you achieve the sense of accomplishment is to be celebrated :D

JoJo - just seen this thread.

1st rule - slow down from the London 70mph lifestyle, and the must have items (home and fashion).

2nd rule - Enjoy what is around you, look for farm shops (and I mean farm shops that sell at neighbourly prices, or road side "eggs for sale", not ponced up organic prices for the city dwellers), you will save money on clothes, and buying tat - as the big shops aren't there to tempt you.

I'd say give it at least 6 months before you look for work, take in your surroundings, try to spot what you would like to do, find a niche - it won't be a London pay rate, but probably a lot more enjoyable and less stressful.

JennyJewel I'm not far from Pencoed, so only a short distance from you.

Re farmers markets, Wales is blessed with lots of good ones, as well as farm shops and people selling eggs etc at the gate.
I know it's down south, but St. Fagans is starting a farmers market next weekend. If you want a nice day out, St. Fagans is lovely to wander around and the buildings are fascinating.

There are also quite a few food festivals that take place throughout the year, and we've got some really great food producers here.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I haven't posted in this thread for a long time mainly because we were so busy renovating the house. We also managed to sort our garden and my gorgeous husband built me an amazing potting shed and sorted me a nice plot to grow my own. However my new lifestyle took a tragic turn in December and my husband suddenly and devastatingly passed away.

I'm glad he got a short time to enjoy our new lifestyle but equally devastated he never got to fully embrace it.

Life certainly hands out some hard slaps and the life I was loving no longer holds joy for me. I never expected to be a widow at 40
