Maybe, if you believe there is voodoo going on in the system and restricting your items because of being marked down, but I personally don't believe so.
I think it is principle and last week I got 4 removed. They told me that I did not need them removed as I was only at 1% but I held firm and said that it wasn't the point, they should not be there and I wanted them removed.
The point is that if everyone just accepts this - peoples leaving + feedback and low stars - then nothing will change. Eventually eBay will get sick of us calling up and they will change it, all of their staff must be holed up with this, answering questions about defects and getting them removed. I use live chat while doing something else so I am not putting myself out.0 -

This new defect system makes it so easy for a competitor to damage your account. He has feedback of almost 3000, so knows exactly what he has done.
Needless to say, he won't be buying anything else from me.
If he has left good feedback, get it removed.0 -
            ebay won't remove them.
I had a positive feedback with 2 low ratings and the buyer had never contacted me to let me know of any problem. I contacted ebay and they said they wouldn't remove them because the buyer was entitled to their opinion£5 a day challenge ~ May £56.72/£155 July £125/£1550 -

The feedback was positive, but made a comment about the packaging being inadequate even though it was perfectly fine, the item arrived undamaged and shipped exactly as the listing stated.
He is an experienced seller, so obviously realised that a positive feedback with positive comments would be potentially removable. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

My last one was the same- another seller was very clever to leave good feedback and 5* but mention colour of item not quite as expected- and slammed me with a low star for item description. They knew exactly what they were doing to stop me getting it removed. I'd sold in excess of 300 of these items with no other complaint or issue with colour.
The seller in question is almost certainly restricted on their own account due to poor despatch and p and p stars, and I am sure they just wanted to make sure they didn't go down alone. I tried phoning ebay and even reporting buyer for malicious feedback but to no avail.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Call me cynical but I suspect there may be a 'placed' good news eBay story here to divert attention from the numerous unhappy sellers

According to the 'pink' on the community boards the new dashboards should be available by 9am tomorrow- except they have not taken into account BST so for most of us that will actually be 10am.
As someone on the boards said the new defect system appears to have taken eBay by surprise, just like Christmas does every year.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I started adding some new Ebay listings at the weekend and then decided to switch to Amazon about half way through. Amazon sales are rocketing this week, Ebay still falling.Ha ha...
Odd thing is though my sales have been very strong recently, yet I have stopped adding new things as I just can't be bothered
I've a few items on that are steady sellers so no point in taking them down. I'll see what this round of changes brings, I think I'm going to be above standard from TRS. I may switch back from free postage as I won't get a discount anyway. I'll do a little bit of tinkering with Ebay but I think we're at the end of the road.
I really don't care about defects and all the other nonsense, I'm happy to jump through a few hoops if I'm getting sales, but I'm not..0 -
Ebay have got this seriously wrong.
All the defect system is doing is providing a system for unscrupulous sellers to target the competition , and the buyers are going to suffer as once a seller has a defect, what incentive is there to resolve a issue. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

I have just started listing on Amazon - just a few lines to see how they go. I love Ebay and the familiarity of it but ready for a new selling platform!0
