Happy Birthday to dancemum's DS2!
Nicki, it sounds as if you and your DD are working well as a decorating team. Well done to you both :T :T You will have a great sense of achievement when it is all finished
After yesterday's showers, it's a nice bright morning here, but the heating has come on, and when I changed our bedding last night I put the spring/autumn duvet cover back on: the lightweight 4.5 tog was just not warm enough any more for me to get a decent night's sleep, and DH likes to be even warmer than me. I'm just hoping that we shall get an Indian summer in September or October.
Today I want to
- write a couple more emails which are long overdue
- go to the local garden centre to claim a free £3.99 bag of bulbs if I spend £10 (no problem - I shall just get some more bulbs for the patio pots!)
- do some tidying up in the garden
- phone a friend
Hope everyone has a sunny Sunday x0 -
Morning all. The joint is a mess with three extra people here so I'm not even going to attempt getting it straight until Tuesday when they've all gone home.
Having a great time though, been really lucky with the weather. Today the dogs are joining us for a day out.
Right, better get the picnic prepared including doggy treats and then wash up and get ready.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Thank you Shell also, for the kind wishes for Mrs Dog. Thank you also Lamewolf for the healing spell - Mrs Dog was very tired yesterday but otherwise back to her normal self, so it worked. Sadly I know you are absolutely right about why she doesn't whinge; she was shovelled full of crusts, rubbish food and carp in her former life but it seems otherwise never had any attention at all (or taken to the vet) so pain is just normal for her.
We had a Chinese takeaway on Friday (which we only do about once every two years) and treated ourselves to some prawn crackers while we were watching something on TV. She was already in such a state I thought it might help cheer her up and gave her one, which she very tenderly scoffed. She then, equally tenderly, lifted the £5 note that was on the coffee table given to me as part of the change from the takeaway! This is something she has done several times (lifting pizza crusts - as opposed to fivers - from plates on the coffee table) and it is the only time she steals food. She doesn't know she shouldn't do it, so I can't be cross with her.
I'm hugely impressed with the GCSE results FlyKids have achieved, especially in a year when grades have been tightened - well done to al of them and to their parents. *respect*Better is good enough.0 -
Morning!
We are just back from swimming so a good time had there. Except one lady thought it was ok to keep half the toys for her daughter (who was playing with none of them) so DS took a watering can that was left on the side. She came straight over saying he had stolen her daughters toy :rotfl: he was gobsmacked! Thankfully I wasn't and replied "oh I do beg your pardon, we thought these were the pools toys, I didn't realise you had brought it yourself" lol well she stuttered out "my daughter was playing with it" and I said "it was sat on the side, but we are leaving in 5 minutes so we'll bring it back then". Honestly, she had 2 balls and two floats as well. The little girl, about same age as DS was just climbing out and jumping in over and over. Lots of kids were taking turns with the pool toys. Where do they get that sense of entitlement from? It's a tiny plastic watering can !!!!!!.
[/rant] :rotfl
Anyhoo... We also got molested irritated by some old gadger in the cafe. Goodness me. All the children behaving perfectly and it's the grown-ups that have no social etiquette. Don't touch my kids when they are trying to eat toast! You do not need to feel how wet DDs hair is!
OK so perhaps my /rant was a bit premature. Lol.
I'm going back in my garage soon to finish organising. Think I've flung everything I can, but some stuff can go in the shed so we will be outdoors this aft, the sun is shining!Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0
