    :T :T :T Well done to the high-flying GCSE Flykids and dancemum's DS1 :T :T :T
Welcome and congratulations on a great start, Chopinonabudget (love the name :D)

    Calming vibes to Dusty.
    GWS vibes to Mrs Dog.
Coping vibes to Valli and bossy.

I have done WMx7 this morning, including 2x bedding and 2x towels, and there's still another load to be done - where does it all come from? (Answer: visitors, plus our normal stuff!)
Just got the second load of bedding out when the rains came down and I had to bring it all in again
DH has proved that he is tall enough to hang the sock thingummy from the light fitting in the utility. I'm not big enough to get it down again :rotfl:

After our drive to S. Wales and back yesterday, I am so tired that I will probably do nothing but sleep this afternoon :o

Would you believe that the sun has just reappeared? Typical! Well, I will try drying the last load outside, but what's been brought in will now be draped artistically round the bathroom or shoved in the tumble dryer - I refuse to play the hokey-cokey.

We have a BBQ at church this evening and DH is in charge of the cooking. I am taking my own pre-cooked chicken breast on the pretext that the sausages and burgers are not very SW

Kiddies were watching a DVD so I've been sat at my desk going through a box of discs. I've sorted into 3 piles: blanks (which FIL might give to his friend who does *cough* copies, ones to discard and ones to keep. The ones to keep pile is tiny as I have most of my photos backed up to cloud and external hard drive. Was a bit of a frog, actually. And it's one less box on the garage counter :T
Found some nice pics of our holiday when we got married. As in not the actually wedding pics, but the days leading up to it. DD wants to know why she / DS isn't there lol.

I'm going to have another cuppa then start another box which I think has books in.

I've been telling the littlies to go play out, now they are asking, and the rain has begun, lol

  • Thanks ionafan :)

I've now also cleared the bottom two drawers in one of my bedroom chest of drawers. I've made a list of jobs that need doing that take a few minutes each but that never get done... I've been working my way through a few of them all day, it seems to be helping.

Washing up is getting there, and I've wiped down the kitchen windowsill.

That's it for today. Cinema and meal out in half an hour :)

In our house, when things break, we just pretend they still work

The only thing Mrs Dog is 'naughty' about is food and I know why, but it can sometimes be a bit confusing when her behaviour is off key. It took me eight hours to realise last evening and night that she was actually in serious pain rather than just being picky and fussy about food. Fortunately I have some Tramadol left over from her previous bout of pancratitis but it's in the dog cupboard which involves ladders and torches at 1.30am. (OH wanted a good night's sleep as he's up the smoke watching his team today and it's quite a schlep there and back in one day.) 15 minutes after I dosed her, which we spent with me tickling her ears, she fell asleep and she's still painfree this morning. A few days of nurturing and a very restricted diet should sort it. Any other dog would be crying, howling and climbing the walls but she's doesn't do complaining.
She's probably learnt that in the past whinging/complaining has got her nowhere, so she doesn't waste her energy on it. Bless her, I'll light a healing candle for her shortly.

And very lovely it is, too.:T Ideal for popping round my shoulders when I sit at the pc and we have to keep the lounge door open for Canine Guest to access their water bowl.:o I'm almost looking forward to the cooler weather now!:D

Flying-wise - we've been into town: done the F&V run, changed the PIN on my new debit card and got Mr LW's new specs adjusted (they were a bit loose and slipped down his nose all the time).

Mr LW mowed the back lawn.

    Meanwhile I defrosted the freezer.

Got bedlinen and bath towels washed and dried outdoors.:T

Worked out some storage ideas for the contents of the kitchen cupboards while we have the kitchen refitted (work commences Sept 15th).

    Made a gooseberry crumble.

Commenced making lemon ice-cream (ice-cream maker is churning as I type).
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Pigpen - that is a really beautiful shawl. I wish i could do something so beautiful

Lamewolf - DH and I treated ourselves to an ice-cream maker for our wedding anniversary - I'm lactose intolerant so plan on experimenting with soya or lactose free milk and cream. Lemon sounds lovely!

Lots of people seem to be getting stuff done today!

We sent to the British Museum today to see the exhibition of egyptian mummies' insides - it was really interesting. I was very pleased to get two loads of washing out before we went as well.

Decided when we came back that we needed to go and buy school shirts for DS - they made a mistake when they first told us the date he has to start and now he is starting on Friday and I need to get shirts washed dried and ironed before then. By the time we got home the rain had started and the washing was all wet! It's now hanging on airers around the house.

The house needs a quick tidy but as we have been out all day it's not too bad. We are all sitting waiting for the new Dr Who to start!
    May spend - £291.40/£320.00
    June spend - £106.40/£320.00

    Evening all

I've got rather a lot done in the garage today, there is stuff in the middle to rehome and a freezer in my porch but you can't have everything. Counter top is almost clear, save for a tall vase on its side full of wrapping paper (!) and my sewing machine. I want to sort through DH tool cabinet this weekend as well. Stepdad has said he'd like the cabinet, but I will need to keep some of tools (I still have a big-ish tool box) so will decide which. I've also told DS he can have one of the tape measures for his toolkit. One of these days I'll make him a little case to keep them in.

The freezer is "out there" for sale on various FB pages and if it doesn't go I'll Freegle it. Everything fit in the main fridge freezer, there is no need for me to stockpile, it's not like we are remote and likely to get snowed in for weeks. And if we do, well it won't hurt me to lose a bit of weight ;)

I've steamed the kitchen tiles, counters and cooker top so looking nice in there again after our brunch-type supper.

Also watched the RL Challenge Cup Final, wow, I have been a Rhino's supporter for years, pre-babies DH and I used to go to watch them when we could. He would have so loved to see them win the cup again. I was both pleased and annoyed when they won. I sort of wanted to cry :( called FIL as he is a supporter too. And he said he had to sniff away some tears too.

But, onwards and upwards, been a productive day and many Leeds fans will be celebrating tonight, it's been a long time coming.

DW is on and I think that's me done. Possibly swimming tomorrow, they also want to do painting and baking. Bang goes my nice clean kitchen :p

Quick update got all the jobs done apart from mopping the floors so that's to do tomorrow. Veggie and meat lasagne made and scoffed by the little's and their friends. Currently have 3 older ones watching Dr Who and other 2 in bedroom playing.

I have been proactive and booked us 3 nights at Holiday Inn for October half term so will do Cadbury World (booked tickets too) and thinking Drayton Manor (have enough T vouchers for those). The Think Tank looks good up there too so may see about that using T vouchers too. We bought annual membership to Duxford Imperial War Museum when there the other day so once home will do a trip to there as only got part way round.

Not sure what time the sleep over will be over in the morning but the back garden needs mowing and I need to get a load of washing done.

HONEY BEAR - Glad Mrs Dog is feeling better. Our little woof usually hides under the table if she is feeling unwell.
