Yorkshirelass, do the clothing restrictions extend to children? I know that sometimes they make allowances and only insist on posh for the adults.
Thanks, yes thats probably true. DS1 is 15 and only has jeans, trackies and trainers so I am going to have to come up with something for him at least. He could probably get away with a shirt, chinos and smarter canvas type shoes but I am still going to have to buy these. The weather forecast isnt great either! Just wondering if I could borrow anything from his cousin ..0 -
Yorkshire if you have an A$da they can be quite good for smart stuff at quite a decent price. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Ds1 has just passed his pool lifeguard exam. Very proud of him. It will boost his confidence after his upset last week.
I have been busy off list flying and playing taxi this week. Also entertaining ds2. It is his 12th birthday on Sunday.
Huge congratulations to DS1 (and you for all the ferrying and supporting him) and Happy Birthday to DS2 for tomorrow!
Big hugs for you, Bossy for the health issue. If DD has seen the cake of her dreams, she's be disappointed with a home made one, wouldn't she? (Just think how guilty she's going to feel when she's 35, a mother and going through exactly the same experience with her own DD - if you ever tell her, because she won't remember otherwise.) Flying will wait.
Chopin, if you do just a tiny bit like one thing off the lists rather than try to blitz the backlog, eventually there will come a day when you look around and realise the place doesn't look like a complete tip. I'm still amazed at how being a Flylady made the worst aspect of my life a constant source of pleasure - and I really, really hate housework.
Neck healing vibes Frizzle. I hope you've recovered enough to get the car boot stuff out of the house tomorrow. *profitable fling*
Safe journey Pigpen.
Hugs for you Dusty. Horrible having another bad night's sleep.
As I did. The only thing Mrs Dog is 'naughty' about is food and I know why, but it can sometimes be a bit confusing when her behaviour is off key. It took me eight hours to realise last evening and night that she was actually in serious pain rather than just being picky and fussy about food. Fortunately I have some Tramadol left over from her previous bout of pancratitis but it's in the dog cupboard which involves ladders and torches at 1.30am. (OH wanted a good night's sleep as he's up the smoke watching his team today and it's quite a schlep there and back in one day.) 15 minutes after I dosed her, which we spent with me tickling her ears, she fell asleep and she's still painfree this morning. A few days of nurturing and a very restricted diet should sort it. Any other dog would be crying, howling and climbing the walls but she's doesn't do complaining.
Off to the chalet for a bit of flying, shortly.
Pup pix please Kaz.Better is good enough.0 -
Morning!
We were up and out early to Mr T, DD wanted the Disney princess one so that's stashed as we won't have chance next weekend. Also bought more milk and cheese.
Kids took their piggy bank money lol £6 each DD found a Lego thing for £28  but ended up with a box of jigsaws and DS took ages deciding, bless him. He chose a truck and a plane and brought £2 home to save. And neither wanted to spend their change on sweeties :T
Just going to do these jigsaws with DD then some flying is required! Bedlam here!Bossymoo

That sounds like a fantastic plan!

Morning all
DD decluttered to work.
have been cleaning top oven/grill (well bottom of); grill pan and racking was dishwashered last night as DW wasn't full and I have been scrubbing and rubbing with hot water and a green scourer only so far, with good results actually.
washing on line.
had intended to car boot today but AF is here and making her presence felt - 5 hours in a field with a chemical toilet didn't appeal.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
I've made a start... Done a load of washing up, cleared the two biggest boxes from the garage and flattened then ready for recycling pickup on Monday morning, and have finally fixed the car wing mirror with gaffer tape and super glue. That should hold till I can afford a new one.

Afternoon all.DS results blew us away - 12xA* and an A! So he is also going to the sixth form he wanted which is great.

:T:T:T
Bossy - hope it all goes well
Dusty - Hugs to you.
Well I started painting the gloss paint at 10.30pm last night  DD and I got engrossed in making something from loom bands with a tutorial of 1hr, and it took us more like 2-3 hoursSo I chased her to bed, then got the gloss out. I finished at 2.30am and the house stinks as obviously all windows had to be closed over night. Cut onions are now spread throughout the room, I'm burning cherry fragrance incense, windows throughout the house are open and the livingroom is like an obstacle course. I'm looking forward to next weekend when it should all be done and dusted except for stuff like new lampshades and the photo wall we want to do
However it means not much at all can be done in the livingroom today at all.
Friday:
[STRIKE]Mr A shop [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Post DVD back[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Paint remaining gloss[/STRIKE]
Saturday:
Order new bookcases/desk/shelves/chair for desk (Split to make the most of BH weekend offerVouchers will then be used towards a more expensive purchase I want to make
:money:)
Clean bathroom - helps if I have clean cleaning cloths in there to use!
Rescue kitchen :rotfl:
Start Mr A home delivery for back to school bottled water etc
Sunday:
Laundry (dark, lights, towels, cleaning cloths)
Finish wallpapering
I'm going to go and try and rescue the kitchen after DD left it last night! Considering it was clean and tidy yesterday I can't believe the mess its in. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
