Can't your employer pay your taxi fare, that will make them consider you & your circumstances properly.0

Dulux. A driving / sales assistant job. It's only 25 hours a week on minimum wage but it is better than being on Jobseekers Allowance and I do know what money I will be bringing home each month.0 -
Thats great, doning well to get proper contracted hours these days0
-
OP- if you are going to pay twice per week £30.00 each time so £60.00 in total weekly for a cab back home... what about just moving there, renting a room and living closer to work?
No idea what your current living situation is so perhaps not possible but....
I live in London and work in London, still my daily commute from one side of London to another is between 1 h 30 min and 1 hr 45 min EACH way every day. But as I am contracting and have no idea where my next will be - I commute.
All the best0 -
gonna bike it now, as £60 a week for a taxi is a bit silly really, looking into moving closer, but I am a council tenant so need to go through the proper process, as I ain't going private rental0

What happens when benefits stops paying out?
What happens when you end up going br?
What happens when you maybe can't then get other work, after all you potentially have work, no-one betters them self with a zero hours contract, you become the accepting of any old rubbish although fortunately a lot of employers are travel aware and actually don't want their workers risking life & death fortunately
All of the above was a reality for me in 2012 and I still bare the scars today, v.strong views
Find something else, no way would I walk into a zero hours contract, seen to many tears, even a pawn shop as an interviewee understood the great hardship that is zero hours, can't you check out these types of places even!!0 -
I am not sure that I should turn down a job on the basis that it is ZHC, KFC are a big (Multi-National) company and if they are looking for people then they must need people to actually work, ZHC seems to be the norm in Hospitality & Catering these days0

Here where I live it is. Unfortunately it's head and executive Chefs only who enjoy the privilege of full time hours and a salary.
Most independents offer zero hours, and now on minimum wage
One bonus is we have stepped up from cash in hand so I do get employers NI paid and I get holiday pay and ssp
I hope this is the stepping stone for you
The very best of luck x0 -
Thanks, suki0
