Is this descrimination legal?

My wife who is looking for a job has reently came up to to this job advert:
http://creativeaccess.org.uk/opportunities/creative-intern-at-adjust-your-set-london
It saying there at the bottom of this advert:
All roles advertised through Creative Access are only open to UK nationals from a black, Asian or ethnic minority background.
I therefore have 2 questions:
1. How can it be legal to descriminate against White British?
2. My understanding of the EU law is that you can not descrimninate against another EU nationals and claim that the role is for British Citizens only(unless this is a job of a sensitive nature eg. in MI5 which is obviously not the case for the job advertised above)?

The Equality Act allows for "positive action" in certain situations - in this case I'm guessing its the disproportionate under representation of non-white british in the media industry

How about non British but permament residents with full emloyment rights?
I wouldn't say that for example Polish or German people would be much presented.0 -
So much for the best person getting the job.0

This!
It isn't a job, it's a paid internship. Creative Access is a charity with the express purpose of ensuring the creative sector has a more diverse workforce. It's a sector completely dominated by white, middle class people who hire each other. You can be quite sure that it's not always the best person getting the job currently!
By giving under represented groups an introduction and some experience they are aiming to redress the balance. Nowt wrong (or illegal) with that.0 -
was the "about us" page too difficult to find or just got in the way of a good rant?

So an "about us" page is all that is needed to make discrimination lawful? I'm sure there will be a number of employers up and down the country rejoicing at this news.0 -
OK an example:
2 boys grow up on a council estate and both have a single parent. One boy is white and another is black.
Both study in the same uni and graduate on the similar greades. Neither has any work experience.
Now the black boy gets an abover intership which will help him to move on with his career and achieve success in his life.
The white boy can't find anything and starts on a minimum wage in McDonalds.
In the above circumstances the black boy would have achieve more in his life because he is of a right color.
My wife would have very much benefited from the above intership but she would not qualify because of a wrong color.
Would it be legal for me to open a corner shop in London and specifically state that only white people would be accepted to work there hence there is a under representation of whites in the corner/convenience shops in London?0 -

Yes, I think certain employment agencies were prosecuted for only hiring Eastern Europeans a few years back.0 -
