cheeky to ask guests to pay?

I would not dream of paying to attend a wedding. Most of them are tedious examples of ostentatious bad taste and self-obsession. I sometimes think I should have been paid for attending.
As for the bridezilla question, that's a yes. Perhaps a register office quickie with a couple of witnesses off the street would be more suitable.:dance:We're gonna be alright, dancin' on a Saturday night:dance:0 -
I don't think it's rude at all to ask people who invite themselves. If you have paid for those you want there then that is totally fine.
If it was really small and intimate and people knew you had money worries then I think it's different as I would pay to spend a special day within someone close if it was something small, local and personal.0
