I haven't even gone to the Ombudsman! It's obvious, because they can't be bothered with the hassle of all the investigations and disciplinaries. These things are all time consuming and like many companies these days are probably operating on skeleton staff and the fore do not have the staff or resources to chase it up!!

So you haven't followed the bank's own complaints procedure ?
You stated earlier that you had !

    I wasn't joking -I was deadly serious.
I think you are seeing conspiracy theories everywhere. Perhaps you need to take a step back and consider why this is. Have you spoken to your doctor ?
Now you're just back tracking. Why put a laughing smilie if you were serious? Why the hell would I speak to my doctor about conspiracy theories? It's people like you who need to open your eyes and stop believing everything you are told. I actually feel sorry for people like you. I never said anything about a conspiracy theory. I just stated I suspected the bank was covering it's tracks due to a mistake that they made and all of a sudden you think I see conspiracies everywhere. You don't know the full history of this bank and the fact that I was lied to three times by three different members of staff. You will all be eating your words when I come back to this thread and the bank has proven I was right! So get down from your patronising self righteous high horse!

There are a lot of lemming like posts on this board about how banks can do no wrong and the poster must be lying or after some kind of compensation.

It's quite similar to going on a technology forum, say about Android or iOS devices, and seeing the fanboys there ruthlessly defending their chosen device.

Exactly it actually makes me wonder if these people are all bank workers, I just can't understand why people can't seem to accept the fact that banks make mistakes and that engage in malpractice. People automatically assume I'm wrong and must be mistaken just because I'm not a corporate giant. Because I'm not some multi billion pound company I must be wrong!
  • Perhaps this thread is one giant conspiracy theory!!

...and yet, you (naturally) complained and made them conduct an investigation because you couldn't remember how your transaction was authorised on this occasion. Imagine how much work it would be if everyone did the same as you when they had a lapse of memory, made the assumption that something they could not remember must not have happened and demanded proof their recollection of events was false.

The Ombudsman is where you take your complaint after the bank's complaint procedure has been exhausted. I.e. after the bank has given you their final response and you are still not happy.

The Ombudsman is not, in itself, a part of the bank's complaints procedure. It's just where everyone has a right to complain if they're unhappy with the bank's outcome.

These threads would go a lot more smoothly if you actually thought about what you were typing.

Why would I go straight to the Ombudsman BEFORE complaining at the bank? That doesn't even make sense! I've seen the way you all bully people on here like the poor woman who had 5k put into her account (yet another bank error) and somehow that was her fault. You all really need to go out and get jobs!

Erm what? I never said I couldn't remember. I DISTINCTLY remember not signing anything. Please at least bother to read messages before replying! I love how because I'm not a corporate giant I MUST be mistaken and must have had a memory lapse! Capitalism at it's finest right there!

It only doesn't make sense if you haven't already complained to the bank, so have you or have you not complained to the bank?

So you categorically know that you did nothing to authorise the transaction? A few posts ago you said you couldn't be sure.
