OP, why didn't you mention this error when you were in the branch ? When they handed over the money apparently without asking for ID ?

Banks have procedures, people make mistakes. Even bank staff. Just accept this and move on with your life instead of making ridiculous assumptions about peoples integrity.

In one post you state "i have requested a copy of the signature to see if it's mine" does this mean it might be ?

I still fail to see what all the fuss is about. Making complaints about stuff that might never happen, what a waste of time and energy. It's hardly life threatening is it ?

People have been sent to prison on testimony that has been stated with such confidence, then later found innocent.

I can only speak for myself, not for others. Perhaps some people over-egg their testimony.

When I go to the bank or shop or anything, I don't take phone calls or send messages, browse the internet etc. If someone rings me I'll send it to voicemail and call them back afterwards. I'm not distracted when I go about my business.

I would not sign a slip without knowing.

People are capable of great things.

There was that guy recently who took DSG all the way to the Supreme Court and won.

Some bloke just formed his own company and built his own bypass and set up a toll road there.

To suggest that it's pointless to go on a crusade over something that clearly bothers you is very defeatist. Why shouldnt you stand up for what you believe in if that's what you want to do?

The OP posted about her experience and simply asked if it had happened to everyone else. Everyone immediately jumps on her and starts questioning the story (why everyone couldn't just answer the question I don't know).

Is it in any wonder she's getting annoyed?

"You will all be eating your words when I come back to this thread and the bank has proven I was right!"

Don't think we will. I still don't see what you're hoping to achieve with all this ranting ? What do you want the bank to do ? My guess is they'll throw some cash at you to go away. Doesn't mean anything will change at that branch, they can tell you exactly what you want to hear, how will you ever know what they've done ? Will you be happy if those 3 people lose their jobs ?

I'm willing to wager you would also notice immediately and be in a position to challenge the breach of protocol there and then. Even if not, it would still be worth someone like you complaining afterwards - either you will highlight a genuine problem or prove to yourself you are not infallible.

However, in the situation where you only "strongly suspect" you didn't sign, it is pointless taking it further because the likelihood of actually being correct is so slim.

I would have made a joke out of it to highlight it.

"What you don't want me to sign anything? I could be anyone you know! :p"

There's not many things that would make me go down the complaint route, but I strongly believe people should do that if they feel it's right and people shouldn't try to dissuade them from doing so.

Exactly it actually makes me wonder if these people are all bank workers

    Please see my sig!

Erm what? I never said I couldn't remember. I DISTINCTLY remember not signing anything

Funny because I work in retail. Every now and again some customer dispute the change and DISTINCTLY remember handing over a £20 note and not a £10. Funny thing is whenever the tills counted it never comes in £10 up!

Perhaps that's where you and I disagree. I think, when the topic comes around in an open discussion, it is a perfectly reasonable thing to debate. As in any discussion of this nature, the OP has the right to ignore anything posted. Most are quite capable of availing themselves of that right. ;)
