Jobcentre Stress

Straight away once you call them up. Once you send the doctors note through it'll all be confirmed and you'll be on ESA from the date on the doctors note. It's not a very hard process. Much easier than your application for JSA.
Thanks for the quick replies, very helpful.
When I go to my appointment tomorrow, and get some more tablets, they usually ask what's stressing me out, do you think I should tell them its the Jobcentre, and hope they transfer me to ESA, or should I just be straight enough to ask for a doctors note?0 -
@ Indie Kid.
ESA is not the same as JSA. JSA is for those fully capable of working. ESA is for those who, either for physical other reasons find it difficult to secure work.0 -
Personally I wouldn't say Jobcentre. I'd mention your anxiety t attending appointments is causing you stress and other issues but I wouldn't actually name the Jobcentre as the cause.A_Couple_In_Love wrote: »Thanks for the quick replies, very helpful.

Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I'll be honest with you, its the whole bothering caused by the job centre itself, not just appointment. They have messed so much opportunities up for me by forcing me to addend pointless courses when I had my own other appointments booked for apprenticeship enrolments etc.
I have no problem finding a job myself, and I have an interview coming up late next week which I am really looking forward to. I could just do with a a little break from them while my stress calms down.0 -
Tell your GP that you are getting severe anxiety at the thought of attending the JCP to sign on - get it for 3 months. Fit note(med3)Complete it then ring up the free phone ESA number to apply. https://www.gov.uk/employment-support-allowance/how-to-claim
Once they confirm the start date, you can then sign off JSA using the booklet with that date.
Keep a copy of it all, just in case it goes missing,, happens now & again. Send it all back by recorded & get a proof of posting receipt.0 -

Being on ESA for a period may well do a lot of harm to your job seeking prospects, making you a risky option for employment.0 -
This is what happened to me. Stress due to JCP and Working Links,
And when i went to the doctor they realised i also have anxiety with socialist problems, agoraphobia and depression not forgetting chronic asthma.0 -

eh? I have no idea why you told me that. I simply said it's the same amount. And as someone whose been on ESA for 2 years, of course I know it's not the same.
I can't see what good being on ESA will do at all.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

You are allowed two period of 14 days of sickness whilst on JSA.
See here:
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukdsi/2013/9780111531921/regulation/46
You will need to complete a form from the Job Centre.
This might be a better option for you.
Good luck with the interview.0
