Ghost Parking Ticket - Collection Firm Threatening. Please Help!

Dear All,
Hello there. Today I received a letter from Rossendales Collect - Bailiffs Agency stating that I have not paid money owed to Excel Parking, or responded to the 'repeated' attempts at contact they have made, and now the debt has been passed over to them.
I have never heard of Excel Parking and have certainly not recieved a ticket or any correspondence from Excel Parking. They have given me seven days to respond and pay £150.
Please advice me on what to do.
Many thanks, everyone.
Kate.

Hmmmm I wonder - start by reading the dozens of other Rossendales threads? Like buses today...there's only so many ways and times we can type the words 'ignore them'. Please let's not make each thread 10 posts long when they could all be amalgamated as the same things are being said every time. Yawn (sorry but it's very repetitive for us when a new poster doesn't read other threads or search the forum for the obvious keyword).
'Search this forum' is at the top of the parking forum in a heading next to 'forum tools' - put in 'Rossendales'.
Welcome to MSE by the way - but you are best reading threads first! They aren't bailiffs either, not in this respect.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sounds like as many other threads today where threatening letters have gone out to all and sundry.
Send a copy of the letter to your local Trading Standards saying that you know nothing about a parking charge notice, you have never had one and you want something done about receiving letters of this nature.
Send a letter (getting a free proof of posting) to that company stating you know nothing about this matter and that you have referred it to your local trading standards department.
Any further letters from them will be constituted as harassment and appropriate action will be reported to the relevant authorities.
Try that!REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0 -
Sorry Coupon Mad you may be right to say ignore but these letters are computer generated and sometimes they need a bit of gunfire back in order to stop them. Most people who may be a bit thinner skinned than you or I are not used to getting letters of this nature.
If the recipient has never had a PCN they should not be harassed by these people.REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0 -
So sorry to bore you, Coupon-mad - it must indeed be very tiresome having to read all the posts on this website and then reply to them all - I hope they are paying you well.0

There are two other Rossendales threads literally a few threads under yours right now, and loads more slipped to page 2 today alone. One search needed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I agree but this poster has had an Excel PCN only it will be years ago like all the rest. Sorry but we shouldn't have to cover the same thing every day, ten times on ten threads - it takes our eye away from people who really need help with stuff like court claims. Even just reading the 10 threads took up time where the posters could have just searched for one word 'Rossendales' and read all the others. These letters get sent out in batches every few months and we get a rush of threads, all the same, every time. Sorry if it's boring but truth be told, it is...like Groundhog Day all over again just like the last time Rossendales sent out some letters. And just like it will be next time too.Northlakes wrote: »Sorry Coupon Mad you may be right to say ignore but these letters are computer generated and sometimes they need a bit of gunfire back in order to stop them. Not only that, the top thread begging newbies to 'read these FAQs first' has clearly not been read first. Debt collector tedious letter chains and the option to ignore them or respond (pointless but it makes some people happy) are covered as you know, in post #4 of the top thread. But newbies come here & read NO THREADS at all.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Agree with C-M.
The OP obviously does not appreciate the fact that people on this forum help and advise due to having some strange modern defect - called being helpful (perhaps with a sprig of revenge and sprinkling of justice) - no payment at all, just giving their own time of no charge (often time that is limited, as we all have lives to live, jobs, and families to spend time with).
And yes katelister, it can be boring, and repetitive when people sit back and expect regular posters to spoon feed them. And even more so when it is assumed that this is done as a salaried service.
The Newbies thread was delevoped by CM, and others, to guide and help people. The thread has taken a long time to develop, and is constantly updated, to give people the best help possible. All at no charge, free gratis - sheer goodwill.
I'm afraid you have made a wrong assumption. Coupon-Mad, and many others, have helped dig thousands of people like you out of very potentially expensive and worrying holes.
None of us 'have to read' anything - but we continue do so to help.0 -
Sorry I got stroppy, katelister but the Newbies thread already covers debt collector letter chains and what your options are - and if you read it then you'll see I specific BEG for ''no new threads'' about some debt collectors as it's just not needed and drains the forum of resources.
You are getting letters. Big deal. File them as we've done for many years. That's it really. If you need real help (e.g. if Excel issue court papers) give us a shout, we don't bite really and we want to help. We do it for nothing as we hate PPCs and their cowboy industry.PRIVATE 'PCN'? I don't know anything about these letters and have never received one before - that's why I was asking for help. I didn't know to search for Rossendales, or what other posts there may be, because I haven't used this website before, and probably won't again.
All the threads have different advice - some say to call the debtors, some to call excel and some to ignore.
I just wanted some help - I'll ask elsewhere in future.1 -
I'm out - if you get a court papers from Excel don't come crying to me for help (and I am female so am certainly not a !!!!!!!).
Because I hate this scam, I help with parking case appeals and defences. Not PPI.
Do you even understand forums? Have you searched?
Have you read post #4 of the Newbies thread which is all about debt collector stage?
Gawd - did you even look down the forum and read the other Rossendales threads under your own?! NOT the ones about getting tickets on cars. Look, these were here all the time plus the thread at the top asking you to read it first:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5035495

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5035341
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5035318
This thread - which wasn't even needed at all bearing in mind all those here already on page one (obvious surely even to a forum newbie) - is now needlessly at the top and already in double figures of posts, having dragged us all away from helping people with appeals & defences.
If you get court papers later on, would you be happy that no-one answers you then? As you know, I won't help you now you've been rude - and others will of course be too busy answering endless Groundhog Day threads about debt collectors from people who haven't even read any other threads...PRIVATE 'PCN'?
