Can vouch for this - used it in Italy last year - another great feature (Three like home, though double check coverage).
Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!

I can recommend Three PAYG. When you don't need so much data just use 3 2 1 rates. You get 150mb free every time you top up. Then when you need lots of data like when you are away, you can take the £15 all in one.

You also use the all in one allowance abroad if you are in one of their Feel at Home countries.

Seems with Giffgaff the prices go up and the level of service goes down (awful data speeds).

Glad I moved to Three, OK I pay £15 pm PAYG, but it's way faster.
  • Really glad I decided to go with Three instead of GiffGaff, I'm on a 1 month rolling contract with them which is cheaper than any of GiffGaffs new potential offers

Thanks for this interesting thread. I joined giffgaff last month and opted for the £12 goodybag. It expires in a couple of days and I know I've not got the best value from it so I need to check out the other options and see which goodybag (if any) is best. I previously was with Te9co paying £5 a month for unlimited texts. I never switched my 3G on and rarely made calls. I see giffgaff are not changing the £5, £7.50 or £10 goodybags so may be I should try the cheapest and see how I get on. I definitely won't be paying £20 for unlimited internet though.

No decision has been made as yet and there are various options under consultation by members, see http://www.slideshare.net/baker011/giffgaff-goodybag-consultation

    And pigs can fly...

The decision is made, there's some window dressing ongoing to make the Giffgaff sycophants think they actually have a say.

It's a little like an election in North Korea...

Indeed. Let's not forget this is Telefonica under a different guise.

Exactly like the last 'consultation' they had.
  • I would be interested to know of any new companies coming up that offera similar service!
