BEWARE GiffGaff likely price increases coming!
Options
I have been a huge fan and have our family of 5 on various goodybags, but nowGiffGaff has started a 'consultation' that basically as a minimum offers you the chance to agree to substantial price increases and data reductions.
So unfortunately, whilst in the past this company was highly recommended, be careful and wait what is happening with the prices first!
If they change, as they seem to intent, I will be moving us off to a better deal elsewhere too.

Yep, and no 'none of the above' option in their poll either. Anyone care to recommend a good sim only deal with unlimited data?0 -
Not looking all that competitive with their newest ideas.£12 goodybag changing to 3GB, 500 minutes, unlimited texts
£15 goodybag changing to 5GB, 500 minutes, unlimited texts
£20 goodybag changing to unlimited data, 2000 minutes, unlimited texts====0 -

Three are the only ones offering unlimited data now aren't they?
Cheapest is unlimited data and texts with 200 minutes, £15 on either a 12 month or 1 month rolling contract. The 1 month rolling was £18 the other day.0 -
In terms of unlimited data SIM's there are a smaller number of options compared to last year.
Giff Gaff is one at £12pm currently. But this looks set to change Q4 2014. This is a 3G tariff. Giff Gaff use "Traffic Flow", their own in house traffic management system to manage and control heavy data users either by reducing speeds at peak times or by blocking them from using data.
Virgin no longer offer unlimited data to new customers, any Virgin customer with broadband/phone can sign up to an unlimited data plan for £18pm with unlimited calls and texts. This is a 3G tariff, however, after using more than 3.5GB your speeds are slowed to 384Kbps.
Lyca Mobile recently started offering unlimited data at £12pm with 500 minutes and unlimited texts but this tariff has recently increased to £15pm for all customers. This is a 4G tariff, however once you use more than 5GB of data your speeds are slowed down to 2G speeds.
T-Mobile still offer unlimited data on their SIM Only tariffs at £22.99pm. However there is a speed cap of 4Mbps download and 1Mbps upload. This is 3G only.
Tethering is not allowed on any of the tariffs above.
Three are still the only network to sell a truly unlimited data plan from £15pm which includes 4GB of tetherable data. This is a 4G tariff with no fair use policy, usage cap or speed restrictions.0 -

Quite correct, however I believe (please confirm or deny if you can) that taking the £10 600min 1GB 12 month three sim and adding unlimited data for £3 after sign up is a back door to the best deal around!
That was an option to do this via an "add-on" (£5 for 30 days or £3 12 month contract duration) on some of the old sim only plans but I'm not sure there is a similar option on the new (July 15) sim only plans. Certainly isn't listed in the new sim only price guide as an optional add-on - http://www.three.co.uk/ThreePortal/Satellite?blobcol=urldata&blobheader=application%2Fpdf&blobkey=id&blobnocache=false&blobtable=MungoBlobs&blobwhere=1223591167989&ssbinary=true0 -

Yes they've definitely stopped the add ons for new contracts.0 -
It was always well hidden - I have seen a few people infer that it is still possible - anyone on a July 2014 sim only tried this?Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0
