oh right - you want an ebook type of thing then!
    why?
we can suggest lots of names on here! believe me, we have chosen loads of babies names in the past few years!
but, you do have to give some info into the type of names you would like.
    Non chav - got that
now, do you like traditional? seasonal? unusual? regional? unisex? (I love suggesting names - My DIL is pregnant and I daren't open my mouth about names - I hate the one she chose for my grandson!) so can I suggest some for you?

I can't think of a unisex name that isn't chavvy!

I'd love a name app for my stories. I seem to use the same dozen or so common names. Which gets a bit confusing when the cute little child in one has the same name as an axe murderer in an earlier one...
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
  • I checked the app store there on iPhone and there seem to be quite a few not sure about android. My child's father and I couldn't decide between 2 of the possible names we had picked for LO, although at the time I did like both, when baby was born his daddy said oh he looks like an (insert name) and me still high off the G+A said yes. So we told everyone the name. Then of course a few days later I really didn't like it but had to stick with it as we had told everyone his name!! I do like it now - its grown on me after 4 years!!

Has anyone else ever wanted to change their babys name after telling everyone??

Given the judgemental reception her question got here, I doubt she's keen to seek suggestions from random people from this forum. I wouldn't.

To be fair though, it did sound like it was more of a request for an app to choose a name/generate a name, rather than an e book type request,

True. It still didn't warrant the usual descent into laughing at "chav names" though. FWIW, I have a unisex name, and it's never been called chavvy once in my 36 years. It might though, given enough people willing to be judgemental about it. You never know!

I don't know about an ap, but this is a good on-line website about first names and the history and meaning.

or (and this may sound a little creepy but isn't meant to be) visit the local graveyard?

There's a lot of lovely names out there that's been forgotten about ......

This is actually what I'm going to do when I'm prgenant!
I like looking at the names if I happen to be walking past a graveyard as it is and I do like the older generation of names (more floral girls names of way back when).
