Evening all,
We visited Ikea at Giltbrook on the 19th July. In the absence of a parking space we parked at the top of an aisle, giving the drivers at the very top ample room to manoeuvre, there were no yellow lines.
When we returned we had the dreaded Parking Charge stuck to our window. This appears to be a printed out ticket by an attendant giving me my various payment options.
The reason given is Obstructive Parking and Unauthorised Parking, even though I caused no obstruction? I don't know how they will prove financial loss in a free car park!
I have previously done battle with PE and was successful due to the help and advice received by the members of this very site. I have no hesitation in fighting my corner yet again.
My question is this, even though I have been issued a Parking Charge Notice, do I still wait for my Notice to Keeper before entering my first appeal. The print out attached to my car seems to suggest that the clock is running from that point.
Any help is much appreciated.

The answer to this is yes. Although you may have fought a PCN before, things are continually evolving, so go back and read Newbie thread again!Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Are you sure this is ParkingEye, as their MO is not windscreen ticketing?
Please confirm exactly who the PPC is.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I understand that they do (very occasionally) issue such, but there are so many OPs who use the term 'Parking Eye' as a generic term for any old PPC, that it's best to double check before launching into potentially inaccurate advice. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. It's definitely PE.
I have emailed Ikea, and although "sympathetic" surprise surprise they can't do anything.0 -
If you spent money don't forget to complain to ikea manager and demand he cancel
And if you went in to browse but didn't spend money, tell him you were browsing for specific items but if charge is not cancelled, then you won't be bringing you custom to ikea that you had planned to!Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. But not in your own home?
TBH I'm sitting at an Ikea desk surrounded by Ikea office furniture and Ikea lighting - but I'm not trying to kid myself it's really David Linley!Je suis Charlie.0
