is this the 2006 Fiesta that you recently bought and were in dispute with the dealer?
one of your last posts in that thread ended
what is your relationship with the selling dealer like at the moment?
I didn't give un update I sent him a letter asking him to fix the car or provide funds to fix the car myself. I gave him 2 weeks. On the last day he transferred £200. He didn't seem happy about this. But I fear it could be him, as he has my address and I parked right outside my house. Also He lives about 30 minutes away, so not too far to drive and he has connections to where I live.
However, of course I have no evidence. It could be anyone. No one elses car wa damaged just mine. But I don't think he had much paint stripper as it was just a single line. Looks like he ran out.No idea.
I will take it to the garage next week see what the cost it.
To me it seems that it may cost a lot, but is it worth it. Maybe I should get get it rust and move house with a garage.0 -
from what you say it is the bonnet the complete side of the car and the hatchback as well
if that is the case then depending how bad it is you are looking at repairing 50-60% of the cars paint so you are looking at a lot of money, a quality full body respray with all the prep work will cost as much as you paid for the car
what i would do today is wash the car rinse it well and then wash it again to get all the paint stripper off and get the paint as clean as possible to stop it doing any more damage
as has been said if it is somebody that has taken a dislike to you or has an axe to grind with you when you spend money to put it right and they visit a few days later and do it again0 -

I doubt that was a random attack, you need to think who you have peed off and then address the issue. If you get another car or a respray then get cctv outside your house as well with the camera pointing at the car.0

I thought you were going to say buy a gallon drum and a balaclava and nip around the dealers lot at midnight with a pebble in your shoe for a minute there!0 -

Or it is the neighbour downstairs who thinks she owns the grass when the deeds say we have access to the grass. There the only people who would have anything against me.
I never knew owning a car was so much hassle!
I think I will get some cctv stick it out my window onto the front.0 -
On an 8yo Fester? Sounds like pretty-much full respray. £600 won't even begin to cover it. Insurance may even write it off.
If it's being run into the ground, then an afternoon with sand paper and a couple of rattlecans.
Oh, and the problem isn't "owning a car" being a lot of hassle. It's having disputes with people who'll sink to damaging expensive assets to try to score points over you.0 -
I'd have a word with the neighbour downstairs in the manner of, Have you seen anyone suspicious etc?/ or you'll never guess whats happened... Then I would be looking at them to see their reaction. You'll be able to tell if they have done it.
What about getting a bike instead? unless the person is prepared to run you over then hopefully that will be the end of the matter.0 -

I am planning to speak to the woman down stairs, but she is always angry so it don't think she will tell me anything new!
I have a bike, an expensive £1k which is my pride and joy. Good thing they didn't damage that!
I better move and found a place with a garage.
I think I may end up just doing it myself, sand it down and spray it. I dont think it is worth going to the insurance. I already crashed this year. I just need a car to get to work, I only worry fi the rust actually makes it structurally weak.
