She may grow out of it and may not but I keep tellling myself it could be a lot worse. A lot, lot worse so I'm going t surf to see if I can do anything to help at all.

Good evening everyone,
I've been lurking on here for a couple of weeks trying to follow the list, and being alternatively chuffed with my results and dismayed that I've let the place get into such a state.
Today I've de-gunked the kitchen and have just finished cleaning the floor (for the second time in two weeks - good grief what have you done to me!) so I am sitting here with a glass of wine waiting for the floor to dry before I can go back in there to get some supper so I thought I'd finally say hello.
My user-name comes from the fact that as of today I am a lady of leisure for 7 weeks. I have just given up my well-paid but stressful and uninspiring job to go back to university as a post-graduate researcher - for exactly 25% of the pay I was getting before
. Amongst other things, I'm hoping in my mini-sabbatical, to get the house in order as it has gone into decline over the last couple of years whilst I've been studying (I'm glad to see there are some other OU students in here).
I love the community here, I have been giggling at some of the messages and alternately awestruck and gob-smacked at some of the photos. I'll probably mainly lurk, but thought I'd come out from my corner to say hello.
I'll end with a couple of newbie questions:
First - how do you clean your micro-clothes? I've been boiling them up in a saucepan for about 15 minutes - but there are still some interesting stains left!
Second - what is the technique for cleaning windows with newspaper - do you just scrunch it up and use it like a cloth?
And finally - a more philosophical point? How much, and how, do you involve your OH? Hubbie was highly entertained by a copy of the week's tasks that I'd printed out and said he wanted to help maintain the good work I'd started
Gosh, that's more than enough from me - and this glass of wine is getting warm,
Have a fun evening everyone,
7WW0 -
Hello busy folks,
Kazmeister, am I too late for afternoon tea and cakes? They look scrummy!
Just had a quick skip through the posts and wanted to say;
HopeElizzy, have a hug from me, that's a lousy week you've had. I hope you find your own way of coping with what's going on.
Happy belated birthday, aimeelister ! Hope it was fun and you were spoiled.
Well done Pigpen on closing another account! Keep going, you're doing great!
And Dusty, thanks for the Lloyds TSB tip, I'm sure I would've opened the mail but I won't if I ever get one.
Lil_me, will the GP not give you something for the toothache rather than having to wait for the dentist? Or maybe it would conflict with meds you're taking for the tonsilitis. Either way hot and cold sweats is not a good thing. Take care of yourself.
Well I did a fair bit of the kitchen when I played catch up at the weekend but I saved the fridge just so's I could join in tonight. There's a lot of leftovers of leftovers and my mum sent me home with a random goody bag on Friday so I'll empty it out, clean it and throw away this weeks meal plan. I'll eat any combination of food, doesn't matter if it's old either.
If I get done by 8 I'm going to make a start on the bathroom floor. I went and bought vinyl tiles tonight. If I get it done properly I think it'll look quite smart. Never done this job before either. Lone Woman does DIY.Am scaring myself every week with stuff I wouldn't have contemplated doing before but if I don't do it it doesn't get done. (Just re-read this and it's actually not much different to when I was with ex-OH..)
Have a good evening. May pop back later.
Edit to say, Welcome 7WW! Hope you find it all useful. One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400
