  • Hi, I received a PCN from here on 21st Oct...send the template from the newbies thread on 25th Oct but have not heard anything back. Is this normal? as it appears others on here have heard back sooner.

    Thanks for the advice
  • Can take them a while, sometimes upto a month. Did you keep a proof of posting / screen shot of the appeal. Out of interest what are the charging you for 'overstay' or 'leaving site'?
  • Hi, Thanks for replying.

Yes we have kept proof of postage.

    Charge was for overstay.

I guess I will sit it out longer for a reply off them.

    Thanks

    Is this the place?

according to that its owned by Tesco and British Land, Tesco usually contract out Highview parking to act as their agents in their car parks, therefore at aguess its Btish Land who have allowed parking eye to infest their car parks - if so then....

a little more digging ( but not much) Shows the CEO of British Land as Chris Grigg, this man even has a wikipedia page here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Grigg
Im sure a heading Parking eye controversy can be added to his wikipedia page together with the something along the lines that British Land has contracted with them (PE) and something else along the lines of saying that British Land may also become liable to refund motorists £1,000s for their agents actions ( should the class action thing get underway/get anywhere )
British land also have a wikipedia page here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Land which could also do with a parking eye controversy section.

Theres also a blog here http://ourblogs.britishland.com/2014/11/chris-grigg-on-leadenhall/

  • Here's the corporate BS from British Land who brougt in PE...

Our corporate aim is to build the best Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in Europe, and an important part of this is being the best neighbour we can be – creating environments where communities and businesses thrive.

The scale of our activities brings many benefits, including job creation and regeneration of local areas, but it also
means we have a big responsibility to the communities in which we operate, as our activities have a lasting impact on them – and we want these to be positive.

I hope the case studies in this Charter illustrate our long-held commitment to earn local support by listening to local people, responding to their needs and concerns, keeping our promises and building trust.

We also recognise that we can do more to ensure a strong and consistent approach to understanding local needs and developing long-term relationships, and so we have set out our ten community commitments. These will be challenging for our Head Office team and local teams working on our behalf across the UK. We expect high standards of all our suppliers and will work closely with them to deliver on our commitments.

    We welcome your feedback.”

    Chris Grigg
    Chief Executive

In reality they are using their agents to clobber the motorist if they dare to overstay at the site. To hell with the needs of the retailers on the site - the driver has 3 hours then don't come back for at least another 2."

And the local community will not benefit from the parking areas 'cos their car parking agent will clobber drivers who park on site land but cross the road to visit local shops.

Certainly not neighbourly, not helping the local community, and certainly not helping businesses to thrive. Just lining the pockets of ParkingEye.

Who cancelled this? If it was the landholder, you need to get that in writing from them, and especially you need to have the PPC to confirm in writing too, to make sure you are not vulnerable to the PPC resurrecting this in the future (they have 6 years) - there are cases coming to the surface where PPCs are having a last sweep of outstanding PCNs.

Not saying this will happen in your case, but better safe..... :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Hi there seems I am joining the many people who have been stung by parking on this retail park. I parked on 30th Nov and a week later got the fine, however had been back on 7th so knew there would be another one winging its way! Have appealed to both first my own letter then second one discovered this site so used template. I have used this retail park for years and the shops on it, I am so angry as it seems are many on this site. Will let you know how appeals go but its just so wrong.
