Woodfields Retail Park Bury

Get ready for a stream of newbies in about 2 weeks time - Parking Eye have just set up site at Woodfields Retail Park, Bury. ANPR cameras in place, signs up and demanding £85 from those who fail to comply with the terms of parking.
Campaign is starting with the retailers and local press. We recently got rid of UKPC from Moorgate, now another (much bigger) car park is infested.

Do you have local radio? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
-
I didn't think of that one - yet it is the first thing switch on in the car. I'll fire some thing off to them as well.0
-
Thanks for the heads up. That's another retail park I'll be boycotting.
To think I nearly turned into there for fuel the other day
Out of interest, what are the terms of parking? If someone went shopping, clocked out, then returned to the site for fuel the same day, do they get penalised? I have a few relatives who go there, so I'd better warn them.0 -
Customers only
3 hours
£85 charge for not complying
Says nowt about leaving site though (loads walk to and fro from there to the town centre). The cameras are at the entrance by the traffic lights.
The cameras have been there a while with a tiny sign but no other signs on site. People have got used to parking all day now - perhaps that's how these firm sneak in and catch people whilst their guard is down.
Potential lots of 'double dipping' with the fuel station, MacDonalds, and 6 major retailers on site.0 -
Looks like you will be spearheading some double dipping appeals then.
But Parking Eye, oh boy.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.0 -
mmm. Hopefully folks will go to the newbies thread and find out all about it for themselves (with a gentle nudge).
Much easier at Moorgate when I could target the ticketed folks with my leaflets.
No-one will know they've been clocked until 2 weeks later and how many fools will pay up thinking they're all alone in a PE infested swamp.
Still, local press and radio contacted. Retailers next.0 -
That site must look like a ‘honey pot’ to PE – plenty park and go into the town centre and leave their car longer than three hours.
Never seen the car park full so I wonder who got the ball rolling with ‘managing the car park’.0 -
The signs also say "No return within 2 hours".0
-
The landlord gets his kick-back so they are happy, PE are extremely happy.
I wonder if the retailers will likewise be happy when they see the foot-fall going down and customers start coming in ranting at them?
Well done you Bury folk for stirring it up.
I miss my Bury black puddings I use to get when I called in at Bury market.
REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0 -
An interesting one - the retail park is a British Land / Tesco Joint Venture. I've already emailed the retailers telling them I am boycotting them until PE and their cameras are gone.
So if the landlord is getting a kick-back, then it could be split between BL and Tesco. It'll do Tesco little good due to the potential of reduced footfall and ill-feeling.
A strongly worded complaint to British Land next.0
