I have no problem with individual Muslims, the few that I know personally. Actually, I've met a lot of them but at this time and the place where I live, I don't know any of them personally.
.
No, no, no, I didn't mean you - or any one individual MC.
I was just saying that *some* atheists seem oh-so-happy to slag off Christians/Christianity, but would not (I believe) say the same about Islam/Muslims.(•_•)

A lot of people don't have faith/font go to Church, but I've never known anybody to be so down on religion as you are.
I know a few atheists IRL SDW, and they are fine with Christians, and don't slate religion, although a COUPLE of people I know are p1sstakers.
But I do wonder what sort of things the people IRL who are athesists who OK with religion, would say anonymously on a message forum.
I also wonder why oh why some people on here loathe Christianity so very much.(•_•)

I do think notanewuser is a much misunderstood womanI also wonder why oh why some people on here loathe Christianity so very much.
She feels strongly about all sorts of things - have you seen the annual father Christmas thread debacle???
, lol.
I enjoy reading her views: she challenges me on how and why I think what I do.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Ooooh, I'll go and have a mooch at that some time. What forum?
To be fair, I guess it would be a boring forum if we all agreed about EVERYthing.

Brighton_belle wrote: »That's fine Torry - I think that's different from the argument that people will only criticise Christians and not 'other faiths' (and I think we all know which one is being referred to) because they would be too frightened to, which as I suggested is not something to aspire to for Christians surely?
And with your point, if you want to challenge society then surely others who view the world differently surely must be allowed to respond and disagree.
I totally think that all should be able to challenge society and point them in the direction they feel is the best. The problem is that Christians are frequently villified for merely doing what is part of being a Christian. I wouldn't criticise an atheist for telling me there is no God so why do some feel it necessary to be so hyper-critical of those who believe there is?Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Exactly!
Like SDW mentioned earlier, one particular poster who is now PPR'd used to ridicule and mock Christian something awful, AND question their intelligence. Just so rude.
At least Notanewuser doesn't do that. She is critical and questions lots of things, but isn't overly nasty, and doesn't imply Christians are stupid!(•_•)

I don't go to Church and I'm not really religious. However, I have no problems with my parents getting me christened. It's something they wanted to do, it made them happy, so if it makes them happy it makes me happy.
My Mam is somewhat religious and regularly used to go to Church, I never have really, but it's never bothered her. I think she probably would have liked me to get married in a church, but both me and my husband weren't prepared to be hypocrites.
Just about to have my dinner, but I'll answer you a little later.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
