Then as mentioned before, the solution is "pay as you leave" with barriers. Works brilliantly at my local hospital
and mine. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

You can even get a weekly pass if you have a relative who will be in for a while.0 -

That would be clamping by any other name and, as it was made illegal, reasonable force could be applied to effect an exit.0

Is there any danger that this thread might return to the original subject?
Every off-topic post plays into the hands of those that have neither knowledge nor interest in the subject other than keeping it away from the subject.
I do not like nor do I read the DM but all power to their elbow if they are prepared to put in the level of research and commitment to following through that few other media outlets have shown. Even Watchdog seem to have gone off the boil.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
It's ok HO87, there will be a new thread tomorrow when the DM do another parking story. Let's see what that brings...Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Sorry you are wrong about daily mail. They're just using sensatalised headlines on populist stances just to get more readers. They do not have the publics interest at heart. If you want change join 38degrees and become an activist.
Create your own campaigns for parking and get issues brought to the attention of parliament or just write to your MP if you want to.
Daily mail is just in the business of selling papers and doing whatever it takes to get eyeballs on their papers, evidently just to keep the advertisers happy which they unethically plug via paid advertorials.
Also, the whole stance is disgusting. "NHS chasing after cancer patients with extortionate fines" or words to that effect.
1. tickets are issued and handled by a third party PPC [AFAIK]
2. they will target whoever violates the parking terms without discrimination. whether they're billionaires or cancer patients on the doll.
3. well the amount is debatable. I have had a look at the financial affairs of PPCs and they're not all that profitable. They have a lot of costs. They have to recover ther costs somehow.0
